Apr 15, 2016 "I think the simpler truth is that Mackelmore and Ryan Lewis caught a pop music wave - no, scratch that, a pop music tsunami - and then as almost all pop waves do, it crashed. People moved onto the next pop wave. The Heist was simply a historical anomaly in terms of statistics, and This Unruly Mess is probably more indicative of the size of their true core audience, the ones who were likely on board before "Thrift Shop" and were going to buy the album regardless of singles about white privilege or not." I pretty much agree with this
Apr 24, 2016 Macklemore is ugly trash who tried to call out Eminem as if Eminem ain't been woke about his place in rap. Macklemore need to take his fish lipped a--- back to the dumpster where he belongs.
Apr 24, 2016 Low sales don't necessarily mean low quality music, but in some cases, as with this album, it does. Have you heard dance off? Holy s---, what a piece of garbage. Anderson .Paak was the best part of that song and he only had 12 seconds
Apr 24, 2016 I'd say his sales were so low because Downtown is the worst song oat, white privilege 2 is the most cac song out there. and because he is a cac who raps terrible.
Apr 24, 2016 It didn't sell because "Downtown" was a horrible lead single. I quite like Macklemore, and the album was okay I thought, but that song felt like such a cynical attempt to recreate Thrift Shop's success that it soured the hype and proved doubters right.
