old m8 who directed the new Kong movie has apparently been given the helm to direct a Metal Gear Solid movie.

There really isn't much info on the web about this and to be completely honest the whole thing sounds fucky considering the Konami/Kojima split (Kojima will be working alongside with Jordan Vogt-Roberts and are friends)

Not long ago Kojima also said he'd love to see Hugh Jackmann play Snake in a film adaptation.

100% chance it's f---ing terrible, how are they supposed to adapt a Metal Gear story into a movie the length of an average MGS cutscene?

yeah that's my main concern. I feel like a series would be better. for example,
Season 1 starts with MGS3, 10x 1 hour long eps should be enough to condense the story without watering it down too much.

That Jordan guy sounds passionate about the series though and has this clear intention of making sure he doesn't f--- it up. But I just can't see an MGS game fitting in a 2-3 hour long movie. Like if they do a movie, it will disappoint because
a) it will be just part of one game and there wont be more.
b) it may have sequels but it's still the story from 1 singular game and not the universe.
c)it's a watered down story of one of the games missing heaps of s---.

Honestly I would drop the movie for a series. It makes so much more sense imo.

Their been rumours about a MGS film since I was in school, Although now Kojimas left, and Konami are whores, they will milk it to death. A film prob would just be straight f---in clichéd blockbuster Garbo, Netflix series however hmm maybe would be more fitting?? I dunno, how much you could watch some dude sneak around, and plot developments taking place through codec calls mainly, I say it would be difficult to translate the gameplay and story of MGS series to film or TV, without it being a corny anime inspired rip of Bond or Mission Impossible sadly

I think the stealth is more a gameplay factor though, like i'd forgive a movie if it only had a few scenes of Snake doing tricky s---, like throwing a mag and then tranqing 2 distracted soldiers, maybe placing a p--- mag on some soldiers patrol lmfao. THink there's a few ways they could pull it off, just not very hopeful.

I'd prefer a full length MGS cutscene movie instead of live action tbh. I can't imagine snake not looking like snake 100%. And if they did this these should make all the actors play every single MGS game so they get a better feel for it
