Been noticing this a lot lately. What's the go?

for example, I just saw the trailer for Black Panther

So unrealistic... I mean serious, when was the last time you left your house and saw nothing but black people? It just doesn't happen. You see people of all different kinds of races and colours, not a single race

Like the races that compose this movie are a bunch of black guys and 3 white dudes... um hello?
what about Latinos, Asians, Tasmanians, South Africans, Australians and Eastern Europeans?

Such a shame tbh. I was really looking forward to this movie as I think Black Panther is one of the coolest Marvel heroes and had read it was going to be somewhat more gritty compared to most marvel films - Now it just looks ridiculous because they've literally made it some fantasy where only black people and 3 white guys exist. nobody else. It's marvel, so i wasn't expecting 100% realism, but this just looks f-----.

I saw 3 only?

So what? this is 2017, entire countries aren't ruled by a singular race. I understand it's confusing, especially when movies like this portray everyone in Africa as black. but only about half of Africa's population is black. Which is why I think diversity should be more prominent in cinema. Like all they had to do was throw in a transgender asian, a gay muslim and maybe a few hard working latinos and it would be 1000x more realistic. Ruins the immersive feel when the settings/characters don't feel realistic.

Yeah I know not all of Africa is black but in certain countries Black Africans are well over 90% of the population so I guess it really depends on exactly what country it takes place in

well look at this for example

this African sports team has a good amount of diversity imo.

as they should. one of my favourite video games of all time is stained by not adding diversity. Witcher 3 is set in a fantasy world based on medieval europe and there isn't a single non-white to be seen. was a huge letdown imo.

Glad you brought up Dunkirk though, absolutely 0 racial diversity.

a few years from now "whitewashing" will be forgotten as every movie starts transgender washing their entire casts. Soon children will go to the movies and wont be sure whether any actor is male or female or mentally ill.

White people aren't diverse. Not in this country where we historically dominate the culture. I do think it's pretty tack to throw a token gay character or black character in every show or movie for diversity's own sake, but you have to realize most people in "show biz" are from very diverse places like LA or NYC where every demographic is represented by the hundreds of thousands. I think that's the real problem at hand. The people behind that media aren't diverse enough.
