Looked for an official thread nothing came up? Always have trouble with the search tool lol anyways

New York, NY - August 5, 2021 - MTV Entertainment Studios announced today a new and expansive deal with co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone which includes extending South Park on Comedy Central through 2027 and taking cable’s longest-running scripted series – 2022 marks the franchise’s 25th – through an unprecedented 30th season in 2027.

This new and expansive deal with MTV Entertainment Studios encompasses the following distribution:

    • Paramount+

14 South Park original made-for-streaming movies – two for 2021

    • Comedy Central channel

South Park series through Season 30

So season 30 will continue with 14 stand alone "movie" episodes. I believe this will be good because this could possibly bring back the og concept of standalone episodes instead of everything being connected because no way they're going to do 14 hour and a half long "movies" that all connect. Anyways very excited for this! I feel like the last two specials were very good for them surprised this isn't on hbo max either...all this streaming s--- is getting so confusing especially with South Park.

I think it was really cool they did a whole season storyline (skankhunt, lorde, garrison being trump etc etc) but I also kinda miss the days were you could just watch an episode without having to know the story.

Love South Park. That extension deal is insane, longer than a lot of successful shows get. I hope they can keep the quality up. It's not at its peak right now but I don't think it ever became a shell of itself like the Simpsons did either.

Apparently there is a new game wrapped up in this deal too. Excited for that too. I liked the last 2 games. Great nods to the entire run.

All 4 specials were f---ing fantastic. What other show has been on the air for 20+ years while remaining great and relevant?

Can't find any of the new stuff on streaming services in the UK. Very annoying.

South Park has to be the first show exclusive to two different streaming platforms at once.

Found it on Sky eventually. But not the latest 2 specials. Might have to study off the VPN and get torrenting.

Off topic, is anyone else getting annoyed with how much choice there is for streaming services now?
    Netflix - £9
    Amazon - £8
    Disney - £8
    Sky - £15

Nearly £50 a month just for TV. Seriously, I'm gonna go back to torrenting and but myself a holiday with the savings.

yup Netflix used to have everything and now there's those, Hulu, Paramount plus, peacock...used to be cheaper to cut the cord and now they are forcing people back to pirating

Netfllix was a smart business and a great deal. People were happy to pay for convenience with a decent selection, no bs ads etc. Everyone else has just followed the money sadly, so streaming is basically gonna turn into cable again where you pay for a bundle of these platforms because it's all been carved up. Hooray for piracy.
