    How do you fee about the Superdelegate system that your party has?

    When I ask Democrats irl I tend to get a 50/50 response, so I am curious as to what the consensus here is.

    I mean I don't care for it but it's not as big as an issue as the far-left makes it out to be. Super delegates RARELY determine the outcome of an election. Bernie supporters swore super delegates were why he lost during the primaries despite Clinton winning more pledged delegates than him.

    It was bs in 2004 as well. All of the distracting nonsense is what allows for conservatives to redistrict in their favor as well. Direct democracy would fix that.

    The democrats are the just the controlling establishment of the left wing of politics in the US. They're seen as increasingly centrist and barely distinct from the right by a growing portion of the left.

    no. we're a republic, not a democracy, and for good reason. direct democracy is tyranny of the majority, and I'm not one to say all people are idiots, but a lot of people can be easily swayed by populist rhetoric, which can have disastrous consequences when someone inevitably takes advantage of it.

    The electoral college doesn't serve it's original purpose anymore because it was established in a completely different time.

    I'm a democrat but if a Republican gets the popular vote he/she should be president.

    I'm fine with keeping it but making it so electoral votes are distributed proportionally instead of winner-take-all.
