Dec 18, 2017 Relapse has always been at the bottom of my list when ranking Eminem albums. But going back to it, there really is something special about it. The production is impeccable. It has aged very well. Much better than MMLP2 anyway. Back when it first came out, there weren't many songs that drew me in. Deja Vu and Beautiful were pretty much it. It was a disappointing album for me. Anyway, Refill came out shortly after. I didn't even know about it. I was in a friend's car and h--- Breaks Loose came on. I was like d---, never heard this s--- before. So that's when he told me there's this Relapse Refill. and it had some pretty great songs. So looking back in retrospect, Relapse/Refill spawned some pretty good stuff Deja Vu Beautiful Hello Be Careful Whay You Wish For Elevator h--- Breaks Loose Drop The Bomb On Em Music Box If it weren't for the accents, Relapse had really great potential. The flow was on point, the production was on point and the overall theme was originial and pretty d--- nice.
Dec 18, 2017 I guess the point of all of this is to say, even if I often considered Relapse to be Eminem's worst album, it has more good songs than Revival.
Dec 18, 2017 He still sounded like himself on it. It has a theme, is cohesive soundwise and has the most replay value out of his albums at the moment imo. Also it has great production, flows and at times even content.
Dec 18, 2017 Relapse is sort of it's own thing to me at this point... in many ways the set up was the same.. but the album itself felt a lot different. Definitely enjoyed the album a lot when it came out. I appreciate it a lot more seeing the mess that Revival is. My only criticism about Relapse was that it was just too much of the same type of songs and it could use more serious tracks like Deja Vu and Beautiful. Now I really do appreciate the consistency of the album and that Dre production is everlasting

Dec 18, 2017 I've always prefered Recovery but I get where you're coming from. The production and flow levels on Relapse are awesome. Remove the accent and that's the closest he's sounded to his old self.
Dec 18, 2017 I liked it a lot better than the songs I removed, I feel like it has to have that weird s--- or else it wouldn't be relapse you know idk. If we're talking refill to I would replace it and my mom with Elevator and Music Box
