Aug 28, 2015 How do you put together 4 talented successful rappers and get something that's no more than just pretty good. Delivery, solid. Rhyming above average - not amazing. Most punchlines are weak. Storytelling is underutilized. I don't find their songs fun or profound, so I dont listen to them much.
Aug 28, 2015 It's really hard for rap groups to succeed on a mainstream level nowadays. Besides G-Unit and The Diplomats, i can't really think of a rap group that has 3 or more in the group that has had mainstream success.
Aug 28, 2015 I wouldn't say they're a disappointment necessarily. I think each member needs to drop their own EP, individually they're talented, I feel like their last album wasn't as good as I thought it would be, they don't seem to gel as a group it feels like something is missing . But I will make my final judgement based on glass house.
Aug 28, 2015 none of you can answer this question properly if you havent heard their House Rules mixtape from last year. and if you have listened to it then youl agree that they have underperformed up until that. one of the best, if not the best mixtape of 2014.
Aug 28, 2015 Don't include me in that response. I still play that mixtape. One of my favorites of 2014. I was only referring to succeeding at a mainstream level, which I could really care less about at the end of the day as long as they still keep doing music like they did on House Rules.
Aug 28, 2015 if they can bring that energy over to the album then I'm sold, they've had solid mixtapes but fell short on the album. Since it's only one album I can't really critique overall performance of the group. I for one am excited for glass house.
Aug 28, 2015 coming to slaughterhouse defence but yeah, Crooked has been killing his solo shyt, Joell also has with Human, the whole Premo thing was great for Royce, Buddens been the only one who hasnt put out a solid solo thing in the last year or so.... so hyped for this glass house album though
