Jan 14, 2018 Anyone know stories/history behind any Thug songs? Like I know Spaghetti Factory is the OG to Travis Scott's Skyfall. Anyone know any other backstories to Thug songs, love to hear about them.
Jan 15, 2018 I always liked the story about how Good Times came about. Jamie xx reached out and Thug didn't wanna do the song cause it sounded too poppy and he wasn't in that vibe, but Alex loved the beat and played it for him at the beginning of every session for like a month only for Thug to reject him until he finally caved and did the song then he immediately recorded Imma Ride right after cause he wanted to do some hard s--- to make up for it. Song comes out a year later and it's one of the greatest pop songs of our time
Jan 15, 2018 I remember in a interview, Alex said that was one of his favorite songs because in the original song he shouts out Alex in the beginning. The bleak version has his name shoutout.
Jan 15, 2018 also the story of him recording Danny Glover in 4 minutes with Alex without Alex ever actually seeing or meeting him until several sessions later
Jan 15, 2018 IIRC Take Kare was created with Thug only thinking it was going to be him on the song. He was speechless when he heard Wayne start rapping on the final verse when Alex played him the final version. I wanna say Alex said this in an interview somewhere, I remember seeing this like a year or so ago.
Jan 15, 2018 yeah Alex said it in an interview about the Slime Season series, he said they then listened to the song on loop for 4 hours straight with Thug just in disbelief the whole time
Jan 16, 2018 i think they took place becahse mumbling f--- was taking a s--- and decided "maybe i should make some s---!" took the mic to the toilet and starting moaning
Jan 16, 2018 Are you f---ing serious? WTF bro. Drippin, Slime s---, Memo, Problem and Tattoos he could have kept tbh. Wow.
Jan 16, 2018 "REAL EMINEM FANS ONLY" Y I K E S Stop projecting your hate for Em's new trash into other sections please. Thanks. Revival was a solid 1.5/10.
Jan 16, 2018 Those songs are all classics but he couldve just made SS3 longer like the first two and then we wouldve gotten all the songs. For some reason they decided to keep going with the short format from I’m Up. Honestly the only reason SS3 is the weakest in his discog is that it could had more music, its very concise but it doesnt have a thematic structure like I’m Up & JEFFERY do. It feels like a collection of songs kinda like the other SS tapes but not long enough. The OG tracklist had Party Tonight, Flowers and Life & Sins on it btw
