Not talking about him “killing” anyone(which clearly wasn’t on purpose btw) If we’re talking about the particular situation that got him there in the first place, the man felt he was about to die. Dude pulled a gun out on him and he got out of there as fast as he could. Any normal man would the same, it’s just unfortunate somebody ended up dying.
