What happened to the hooks that Em used to make? I wonder. Is he self-conscious they aren't as good anymore? Has he run out of ideas? Is the label forcing more pop stars on the hook to gain attention? What do you think? My personal opinion is that he isn't as confident. I honestly think that his post-hiatus albums could easily be on par with his prime s---...the only issue is the track selection. I have posted about it before. I think he has a classic in the vault within every album cycle.

How can the GOAT go from making about 80% of the hooks (prime/pre hiatus) on a solo album to making less than 50% (post hiatus)????

Classic hooks in my opinion (Prime/pre-hiatus):
The Way I am, My Name Is, The Real Slim Shady, Criminal, Marshall Mathers, k--- You, Role Model, Just Don't Give A f---, Still Don't Give A f---, Soldier, Cleanin' Out My Closet, Without Me, Superman, White America, Yellow Brick Road, Spend Some Time, Encore, When I'm Gone, No Apologies, The Apple, Don't Approach Me, Forgot About Dre, Welcome To D-Block, Drama Setter, and Welcome To Detroit City.

I honestly think I do not even hate any chorus pre-hiatus.

Classic hooks in my opinion (Post hiatus):
Deja Vu, Beautiful, Same Song & Dance, Stay Wide Awake, Must Be The Ganja, Seduction, So Much Better, Brainless, The Reunion, Where I'm At, and Talk To Me.

The list is significantly shorter post-hiatus. That could be due to many reasons. He obviously releases songs with himself on the hook significantly less than he used to. My own opinion is that it is a combination of himself having a lack of confidence and his label wanting him to go pop. What do y'all think?

The point is he released songs with himself on the hook a lot more in his prime. Why hasn't he post-hiatus? If he released as many as he did prior to 2008/9 I honestly think it would be a close battle. Anyway, tell me your thoughts...

I almost put Believe. His hook selection is subjective. I do not hate many hooks of his pre-hiatus. Post hiatus, he doesn't have many I dislike. He is phenomenal at them....my point is that his best were pre-hiatus. I won't argue that many hooks of his s--- haha.

The Reunion has a great hook for modern Em standards.

3 em hooks on revival (believe, framed, offended) and 4 half hooks (untouchable, remind me, heat, castle) :emoji_sleepy:

while the only great performances here were believe and castle, we really need em to get his hooks right and do a full album of them

I believe eminem hooks were written by the bass brothers
Or at least the melodies for them

I don't know why Em doesn't do like Jay Z that left Def Jam for be more focused on his own label. Eminem has Shady Records but he still inside Interescope, i think somebody is forcing him to make those poppy songs, but i'm pretty sure that somebody forced him to rush with Revival.

Em has a habit of making really great hooks that work, but when he f---s up...he f---s UP.

You're Never Over, Stronger Than I Was, and Framed (just imo) are the biggest ones in recent memory.

Eminem hooks were great until recovery. Then he either uses garbage pop copy and pastes, or thinks that he can sing them (which is super gross most of the time. He said it himself, he can't sing). And on the rare occasion we do get a rap chorus he might pull a framed or offended and f--- it up

He sold out and 90% of his tracks are radio records gave to him as skeletons with the hooks already done , so he records his verses and either keeps the hook as a generic no name singer or gets khelani to do it

This is how Em makes his s-----y music now

Noticing Biggie's hits are "already done hooks", 95% of them.

    What are you talking about?:bookah:
