Oct 26, 2018 Did he use it to it's full potential? I'm inclined to say no. It's a great song but could have been his biggest hit if done better.
Oct 26, 2018 Dammit idk....I do think this was some of his most colorful rapping especially his first verse "Canary burgundy/ I call it Lemon Red, yellow diamonds on my ear call em Lemonheads" Dipset Anthem, Down & Out...his mixtape cuts where he even bodied a Journey song, Cam has rapped over so many unconventional production. But gun to my head and if I had to pick only one:
Oct 26, 2018 Yeah, the production is so diverse and colorful, I'd be hardpressed to find a similar situation except maybe The Neptunes production discog
Oct 26, 2018 Not because of diversity, but d--- when I think of Common's discography, he had the luxury of working in his lifetime with No.ID, Kanye West, Neptunes, J Dilla and so on.
Oct 26, 2018 It's crazy he never became bigger than he was with all the star power around him, s--- he got signed because Biggie put him on.
Oct 26, 2018 Coming from the perspective of a NYorker that was a kid around his prime, he felt like the biggest rapper in the world next to Jay. We all wanted to be like Cam and 50 when he blew up next. Unfortunately as you very likely know label politics interfered heavily in his career, Dame & Jay's divide and that rivalry with Hov still depresses me, we were deprived of some amazing collabs. Still Cam will always be my favorite rapper oat
Oct 26, 2018 Did you listen to The Program? what did you think? It was one of my favorite projects last year.
Oct 26, 2018 I liked it but didn't love it, the hunger isn't there anymore for a full project but there were plenty of vintage Killa moments like Lean and UWasntthere. I think whatever upcoming Dipset tape is coming hopefully taps into that monster that still in there lol
Oct 26, 2018 Lean was definitely my favorite track, but I agree he isn't hungry anymore. Dime After Dime was also pretty f---ing fire honestly.
Oct 27, 2018 There's some gems on some of those Dipset/Diplomats mixtapes, the amount of material they were pumpin out was intense in the early 2000s
