Dec 11, 2018 I'm asuming the driver could potentially be charged with manslaughter (whether likely or not I don't know)? Punishing people for accidents does not seem too productive to me. Is it not the intention of prison to rehabilitate the said person and/or offer protection to the public as well as the individual in question? Humans love retaliation but it often clouds our judgment. Anyway, the often unwarranted burden of carrying responsibility for even the most minimal mishaps can be somewhat debilitating. I can't imagine the effects situations of this magnitude would induce.
