I've recently left the dense and tepid crocodile-infested jungles of the Southern hemisphere and relocated to the grimy streets of London town as an immigrant planning on stealing British jobs before Brexit becomes official

Just listened to Dave and Little Simz' new projects which were both insanely good. Simz has got a borderline classic on her hands fr. Only other s--- I've heard is Wiley's Godfather (very dope) and some old a--- Foreign Beggars albums. Anyone got any recommendations on what else I should check out? (excluding 21 Savage).

Stormzy and Giggs have been on rotation right now. Speaking of Giggs, he dropped a project not too long ago.

I could name a f--- ton of UK rappers if you want.

Im probably the only U.S. n----- that takes UK rap seriously.

Big Bad is a pretty solid project, Wamp 2 Dem is a better project tbh.

    Here are some suggestions:

Dizzee Rascal, Nines, AJ Tracey, Danny Seth, Skepta, Section Boyz, 67, Krept & Konan.

Or if you like that pop rap s---, there's always Tinie Tempah, Chipmunk, and Labyrinth.

Early to mid 2000's grime is the absolute peak.

Grime was never really an album/project based genre, most of the really good s--- comes in the form of one-off tracks and long lost bootleg tapes. In the way of easily digestible stuff, Dizzee Rascal's Boy In Da Corner is my country's crowning achievement, and that's including all the inventions and scientific advances and s---. Since you've heard Godfather, check out Treddin' On Thin Ice and Playtime's Over for prime Wiley. Kano used to be super nice, Home Sweet Home is an essential listen. Ruff Sqwad were favourites way back, the Guns & Roses tapes are classics. Skepta, JME, Devlin, Lethal B, and the infamous Crazy Titch are all worth a look if you can wade through their massive catalogues.

Outside of grime, the UK hip hop scene has some good s--- in it. Klashnekoff and his group Terra Firma are by far the best, check out his solo album The Sagas Of and their group project The Foundation.

@WheresTheMeat thanks man, I'll check those out. Probably gonna skip the pop rap s--- lol. But Wamp 2 Dem and the AJ Tracey album are on the list.

This is exactly what I was looking for! I listened to Dizzee's Maths + English back in the day, heard good things about Boy in Da Corner, I'll add it to the list. Definitely wanna hear more Klashenkoff, that song @BIGFOOT posted is insane.

Skepta’s remarkably consistent and you can’t really go wrong with any of his projects. Greatest Hits is my favourite mostly for nostalgia, Konnichiwa is also great if you want something more modern

    Are you also in London?

I finished my studies in South Africa last year but didn't have much luck finding a job so I figured I'd try out a more international location. Its been cool so far, long hours on public transport means I've listened to way more music than usual. the weather is absolutely atrocious though lol. Been airbnbing around North London/Finchley area the last 2 months but will likely relocate somewhere more central once I figure out where I'll be working.

Yeah man, born and raised. I work in hospitality and was doing a 3 month secondment role as an Area Manager for 13 pubs around North London. One of my pubs was right next to East Finchley tube station so I know the area fairly well.
The weather will get much better soon, trust me!

Lots of people say krept and konan fell of but their 7 days/7 nights project was really good. Came out in 2017 though, since then I haven't heard from them
