What up Strange music fam? I wasn't too active towards the end of SL so I'm not sure you'll remember me but I'm hoping to be more active once this semester is over. I posted this in the other thread but I'll post it here just in case you haven't seen it.

Im pretty annoyed Rittz didnt do an intro track for Next To Nothing like he has done with every other release he has done.

What album do you guys prefer, The Life & Times of Johnny Valiant or Next To Nothing?

I mentioned this in another thread, but i never really listened to ''Next To Nothing'' the way i listened to ''The Life & Times of Johnny Valiant'', not because i dislike the album, but due to the release of so many albums around the time it came out, but im trying to listen to it more now, do you guys have any issues with it or anything you love about it?
Music-wise i have no issues at this moment, however, i despise the cover!. Why put your heart & soul into music & then use a s-----y cover that pushes people away rather than sparking their interests.
Ive shared this before, but here it is again, the cover i made for it, It took about 2 minutes to make, as someone already painted the picture of rittz, i added the rest.

Yeah, that intro was useless. Skip it every time I listen to album.

I prefer both albums. First one got more catchy songs, second got more solid content overall.

really ? i like the intro track on NTN, it gets me into the vibe of the album so when explode starts i'm already there. i would actually have to say i prefer NTN. mainly because the lyrics are just better. explode's 2nd verse is crazy, as is living a dream, as is turning up the bottle. but i also think this one has catchier songs, turn down, bounce, in my zone are all so good, and i totally get why anyone would despise this track but my guilty pleasure on the album is profit, it's probably one of my favourites. blow is also amazing. the only one that's a bit average is wish you could which is equivalent to goin in off TLATOJV to me, just because they serve no purpose on the album. call 911 is a bit randomly placed too and kind of outside the album's whole vibe, i reckon that should have been a bonus. but honestly, such a great album. i agree with you though creation, there were a h--- of a lot of albums released at that time. i'm feelin that now too.

Man. I missed out on the whole "SL is shutting down this week and will be back up next week" thing. Really thought the site was dead until I randomly checked it out right now.

In regards to Rittz's albums, I definitely prefer Life and Times of Johnny Valiant to Next to Nothing. It was a near perfect introductory album for him and explored his range of skills and a great selection of beats. Next to Nothing attempts to do the same thing, except it has a poor selection of beats and a pretty atrocious selection of hooks in my opinion. Still has some great tracks though.

Brotha Lynch Hung is probably my favorite artist on the label. Sucks he got signed after his prime. Rittz' debut album was interesting. I respect Tech N9ne a lot more than I listen to his music.

I like NTN better. Explode, Turn Down, Crown Royal, LAF, Bounce, In My Zone, Turning Up The Bottle, Broke & Famous are my faves. I like the beats better overall on NTN.
Definitely one of my favorite albums of the year.
