Sep 25, 2020 he’s predictable... at least musically. I feel like we all already know what we’re going to get with any new album that he puts out: anti-label, god-praising, non-cussing choir music. His entire brand was built on being innovative and surprising but he backed himself into a corner by committing to his current wave. I think I finally figured out why I’m not hyped anymore
Sep 25, 2020 I miss the times where the OG version of a kanye song was completely different than the released one. OG FML was a whole dance song. Kanye used to experiment so much
Sep 25, 2020 might be a good thing tbh, I feel like we've already heard DONDA and if I see Ant Clemons anywhere near any of his new leaks I'm immediately giving up hope
Sep 25, 2020 I dunno who that is but as long as he is making music with the holy jezus club I'm not interested in his music lol
Sep 25, 2020 Probably because he sucks now. Personally, aside from some tracks here and there, MBDTF is the last Kanye album I can listen to. Also can't figure out why his songs are so short now. The majorirty of the tracks on Jesus Is King were barely 2 minutes long. Some even less. The guy has lost it mentally and it shows in his music.. We will never get something like MBDTF or Graduatuation again.
Sep 25, 2020 Not necessarily. Wash Us In The Blood was a huge step away from the sound of JIK, even if lyrically it continued the religious themes.
Sep 25, 2020 Felt this way post Yeezus it just has gotten way worse every album since. His production at least still sounds like it's good
Sep 25, 2020 Agree almost completely. He already gave us a "gospel album" with Pablo, and then he's like "no for real this time i'm making a gospel album" with JIK, and now he wants to do a pt. 2/remix with Dr. Dre. I miss when he made new, original s---. From Graduations synthy, arena anthems going to 808s stripped down, tribal ballads, to Dark Fantasy's rock opera excess. Even people that hated him were like "f--- this guy, but g.d. he's talented.". Now he's more of a meme than anything. I do disagree on Ant Clemons tho - - Cash To Burn, All Dreams Real, Closed On Sunday OG - - i think him being left out of the final songs is the biggest letdown if anything. Crazy writer with nxt lvl hooks.
Sep 26, 2020 kanye also moves off of what hes feeling tho. so if he stays in this direction hes really gotta be into it. but also, how original can someone continue to be? how many times can you reinvent yourself? id say kanye has switched up his sound, and reinvented it more than any artist, or in a small group of artist ever.
Sep 26, 2020 It was mostly musical surprise though, rather than what he was saying. Like 'Graduation' after 'Late Reg', and '808s' and after that and 'Yeezus' after that. He wasn't saying all that much different album to album. Just presented differently. I agree though, but I think it's because he's just run out of new aesthetics. He lasted longer than most... most are predictable by album no.2.
Oct 7, 2020 ant clemons is better than kanye at this point lol. he delivers those reference verses with more gusto than kanye final verses
