    So one of my friends who is a huge Kendrick stan is one of those people who would suggest that Kendrick is already the GOAT and that GKMC is the GOAT rap albums. He needs to be knocked down a few notches.

    I told him Illmatic is and should be considered the GOAT rap album and he dropped a bombshell on me by telling me he never has even listened to nasty Nas which I LOL'd at.

    Show him the light people. Songs like N.Y. State of Mind, Life's a b----, The World is Yours, Halftime, and the rest are just... they're just... :banderas:

    I own them both but Illmatic is better plain and simple. GKMC is/was an instant classic i'm just not ready to put in in the elite of the elite category with Illmatic/TES etc.

    Illmatic is a masterpiece, GKMC was an instant classic, but Illmatic is better plain and simple.

    Obviously most people would say they'd rather listen to Kendrick since he's newer and he's killing it right now, but still man you can't forget the past lol

    well tbh, If i could listen to one album for the rest of my life and it was a choice between these two, I would choose GKMC only because Illmatic is a bit more boring to me compared to GKMC. In no way is Illmatic a worse album though but i just feel that GKMC has higher replay value and i enjoy listening to it more

    Prefer GKMC by far but its impossible to vote for it over illmatic. Look how well that album has aged, what its achieved, how many artists it's influenced. GKMC could be the next illmatic but it needs time first, give it another ten years and we will see how it sounds.
