MMLP reminds me of my first sexual escapades

    Good thread.

TPAB and 2014 Forest Hills Drive (Wesley’s Theory and Tale of 2 Cities specifically) remind me of my freshman year of college. First time I had been living on my own and getting a taste of the independent lifestyle. Always takes me back.

A lot of older Wiz Khalifa songs (09-13ish) immediately s---t me back to high school. He was just everywhere in my class. I’ll always have a special place for Relapse as well. I skipped school in middle school to go buy the CD lmao.

Some people here might know that I f--- with 50 Cent pretty heavily. That’s mainly because my father (who did not particularly listen to rap) would absolutely blare GRODT in his F150 when I was maybe 8 or 9 to and from school. One of the first albums I can remember listening to.

Ones that stick out to me are:
Will Smith -Big Willie Style. Reminds me of my younger days in general.
Eminem - MMLP. Reminds me if my last couple of school years.
Ice Cube - The Predator. Reminds me of working my paper round as a kid.

There will be plenty others but these are the main ones.

Ab-soul - controll system and Danny brown - ---. Was going through my hippie stage experimenting with psychedelics. Thought I was so woke back then.

Good Kid was peak high school for me. Many lit parties, misadventures, shenanigans. Every day felt like something out of the Superbad movie.

Everytime I hear no role models, or st tropez,, or anything from 2014 forest hills drive really, I feel like instantly transported back to freshmen year high school or a football game

    Joyner Lucas 508 507 2209
Because I used to fall asleep to it with this girl, and it’s a good album I shouldn’t have to explain listening to Joyner, the album sounds like home to me

d---. is haunting for some reason, I just wasn’t having a good time when that came out, plus I can hear Kenny going “this that new new s---” “what happens on earth stays on earth” every time I think about it, paranoia fuel I suppose, still love every track

Red Hot Chili Peppers the getaway also takes me back to freshmen year, really a solid album as is all their albums

Awaken my love by Gambino is haunting but in a nicer way, just reminds me of winter and friends

MMLP2 will always remind me of 6th-7th grade lolololol, survival was my s---, eat my a---

    Malibu by Anderson paak.

Yes lawd, my favorite album of his even though I know Oxnard exists and is swell. Definitely how I discovered him and will always remind me of a field trip day

“Six years old I tried my first pair of Jordans on
    (Momma can you carry me?)
It was late in the fall I caught a glimpse of my first love, my god
    (Momma can you carry me?)
Knees hit the floor, screams to the Lord
Why they had to take my mom?
    (Momma carry me)
To the early morn”-The season/Carry me

Mh, and I keep adding ones but Graduation by Kanye sounds like elementary school so I also love that

Got GRODT and my first diskman for Christmas while going on a somewhat cross country drive with my dad. That was special.

Relapse was the first album I was online for that was also really special, I remember trying to Download on 2009 McDonald’s free wifi and it was pain.

The whole Smackdown vs Raw 2007 soundtrack is also a time travel device.

    Good thread.

Jay's 444. It came out when I was in Miami.

Aside from me being a Jay stan, it takes me back to first hearing it; I downloaded it and listened to it w my buddy, sitting on a terrace on Ocean Drive.

Everytime I hear it I'm back on Ocean Drive, which was f---ing amazing.

TES is my favorite album of all time, it dropped the week I turned 12, which I copped the censored version and I was a very angry and depressed child from all of the loss and traumas I was enduring and it helped me get through a lot. CrazySexyCool by TLC was a album that my mom listened to on repeat when I was a kid before she passed when I was 7 and hearing Left Eye rap was my first exposure to rap in the mid 90s and what made me fall in love with it at a early age.
