The sample goes perfect with the song

The louder rain and thunder/angrier tone that's implemented as Stan becomes more unhinged

It's an amazing track becuase.

Melody, and the beat.

The concept, his delivery and the way he becomes the character, when im listening to first 3 verses I cant even picture it as eminem i just see stan.

and lastly (best reason) you have to remember this was before Eminem was like HUGE INTERNATIONAL SUPERSTAR. This was just Eminem coming off SSLP, he had a lot of fans but not that many, most only still just knew em by My Name Is. Eminem made this song before he got THAT big and as soon as he did this song and the album made him THAT BIG. Thats why it even looks more genius.
