I’m making it a point this year (and even beyond) to finally take the time to listen to the discographies of many artists I have been meaning to check out, and revisit discographies that I love. I wanted somewhere to log it besides my notes in my phone and AOTY, so I thought it would be fun to bring it here! Everytime I finish an album, I’m gonna post it with the score I gave it and where it ranks in the artist’s discography so far. Feel free to discuss these albums with me! Jan 29, 2025 House of Balloons - The Weeknd Score: 9.0 My score for this album has gone up since we listened to it on AOTWClub, mainly because I like every track now, where previously I was not huge on The Knowing. Great mixtape to start a legendary career.
Jan 29, 2025 Thursday - The Weeknd Score: 8.0 I was skeptical going into this project because it's the middle child of the trilogy and nobody talks about it much, being sandwiched between House Of Balloons and Echoes Of Silence. Jan 29, 2025 Echoes Of Silence - The Weeknd Score: 9.5 Holy s---, one of the greatest projects I have ever heard. Every track is f---ing fantastic and had me making multiple stank faces throughout. D.D., I had to make sure he didn't sample MJ's vocals because he sounds JUST LIKE HIM on this track, especially the beginning. Amazing rendition of Dirty Diana. The reason I give it a 9.5 instead of a 10 is because I feel that the last few tracks are not as strong as the first batch of songs, but they are still amazing. Wow. The Weeknd Ranked: 1. Jan 29, 2025 Great idea for a thread. Can't wait to see what you think of Kiss Land. In case you're taking suggestions, I suggest 2Pac's discography from 2pacalypse now to 7 day theory. Legitimately one of the best discographies imo if you ignore the 5 posthumous albums aren't always great

Jan 29, 2025 Kiss Land - The Weeknd Score: 7.5 cc: @Yeez I liked most of the songs here, but didn't love every song if that makes sense. Only one skip, being the track "Live For" with Drake. Drake's part was cool, but Abel's part did not click for me like it usually does. Maybe it's a grower track. This is the weakest project for me from Abel so far, but honestly I could see that changing upon relistens. Hey, if your worst album so far (or maybe overall) is a 7.5, you got a d--- good discog. Jan 30, 2025 at 12:12 AM Beauty Behind The Madness - The Weeknd Score: 8.5 Lots and lots of classic songs on this album, and a step up from Kiss Land. Easily one of Abel's biggest albums, with 4 songs over a billion streams, 1 of those with over two billion, and another 1 of those about to hit two billion. As an overall project though, it is a solid body of work! It feels like a cleaned up version of his earlier sound mixed with the best parts of Kiss Land. Jan 30, 2025 at 3:12 PM Starboy - The Weeknd Score: 8.0 It was nice! It's the most different Weeknd project thus far, and the production was pretty fun throughout the album. Was very strong very consistently, but dropped down in quality towards the end of the project. An entertaining listen and I see why this one stands out in his discography! The Weeknd Ranked: 1. I'm pretty sure this was part of something bigger than got cut down and released to be a bridge between Starboy and After Hours? Jan 30, 2025 at 8:24 PM He was making a happier, more upbeat album but then Selena Gomez and him broke up so he made My Dear Melancholy and released it instead. This is one of my favorites as it released at the perfect time when I was also going through a very similar breakup.
Jan 31, 2025 at 2:31 AM Couldn't type up my thoughts on After Hours and Dawn FM before Hurry Up Tomorrow dropped, so it felt right to do it all in one post. THE WEEKND'S FINAL TRILOGY: After Hours - 9.0 What can you say about this project that hasn't already been said? This album carried the insane year that was 2020 with MULTIPLE billion+ stream hits under its belt. This project absolutely earned those streams and deserves to be as recognized as it is. Dawn FM - 8.5 While a slight step down from After Hours, this project still produces an awesome mix of songs with some different features as well, tapping Tyler and Wayne into the mix. Also, Jim Carrey takes a break from fighting Sonic to narrating a Weeknd album as a radio host. Another b-----r project. Hurry Up Tomorrow - 8.5 Became a bigger fan of The Weeknd in under 48 hours with a big binge of his discog, and this album just put a big bow on a legendary career as "The Weeknd." Feb 1, 2025 at 12:50 AM Black b------s - KMD (MF DOOM & DJ Subroc) Score: 8.0 You can just tell that this was recorded in the early 90’s. I read that this album was just about to wrap recording when DJ Subroc, DOOM’s brother, was killed sudden by a car. The album then was shelved by the label they were signed to, Elektra, just to be released to the world in 2000. However, this album was still fantastic and I’m glad it’s available to stream! Like I said, you can tell it was recorded in the early 90’s, and I love that it has that feel! Will more than likely be a standout album in DOOM’s discog for that alone.
