Oct 9, 2025 at 6:22 PM What’s @Marsh gonna say now? Kendrick has mopped the floor with your boy on every metric. It’s beyond overkill at this point
Oct 9, 2025 at 6:24 PM I didn't even know you could be sued for a song, don't you have a right to say "so and so is a fa----" in a song without fearing legal repercussions?
Oct 9, 2025 at 6:32 PM Absolutely. You’re allowed to say your opinion of your opp in a diss track. It’s a form of art. It’s not like Kendrick was out here making public statements saying that he knows for a fact Drake is a pedophile without providing proof. It was all his opinion in song lyrics. Drake was never going to win this. If he did, every MFer who ever made diss tracks would have to get sued, including Drake himself.
Oct 9, 2025 at 6:32 PM I actually thought the opposite lol I feel like this going to delay Drake’s album even more but who knows.
Oct 9, 2025 at 6:32 PM Yeah freedom of speech. But Drake is an idiot. He took it as slander when it’s literally a rap battle that he provoked. He wanted the privilege to call another man a wife beater on record, but sues when he is clowned for his predatory behavior
Oct 9, 2025 at 6:35 PM I’m bumping this all night. I wouldn’t be surprised if Not Like Us gets an increase in streams
Oct 9, 2025 at 6:35 PM Besides, from what I understand, proving defamation is hard as f--- since you have to absolutely prove that whatever was said about you directly affected your public image, income, etc. It was the corniest, most r-----ed move he could've made and I don't get what he thought was gonna happen, maybe his lawyers wanted a quick buck lol Nothing short of a million people saying in unison "I won't buy ICEMAN cause Kendrick said he's a pedo" would've been enough I think, especially for artistic s--- like music like you said
Oct 9, 2025 at 6:38 PM Even if you hate Kendrick, this is absolutely a win for hip hop and free speech as a whole.
Oct 10, 2025 at 11:46 AM Drake spent all summer with this goofy a--- lawsuit just to lose. It’s the most anti-Hip hop move you could possibly do. Imagine bigge sue PAC cuz he called him a fat f---. Imagine Eminem sue Ja rule for calling Hailee a slut. Like this was such a r-----ed idea from the start
Oct 11, 2025 at 11:40 AM Drake’s moves post-beef have been perplexing, to say the least. Imagine how differently Drake would be perceived if he kept his head down after the battle and released an album full of fire music a few months after the Super Bowl. The vast majority of hip-hop fans would’ve been over the beef. In contrast, his moves have only served to accentuate the L and underscore many of the non-pedo arguments Kendrick was making about his character. This will be taught in business school brand management classes as a case study of what NOT to do to maintain brand equity in a crisis.
