May 18, 2016 In the beginning a few of the people who had a problem I was this good, scoffed, I just shook off Probably reminded you of the first time you saw Tiger Woods golf Never thought about how much my race and nationality meant But based on how I ascended, see how plain it was now, they want me to jet No one really gave a f--- about my descent, 'till I took off Mistook me because I look soft But I stood tall, I just follow the (Doctor's orders) So I rose and grew balls, told these hoes to screw off Decided opposing you is what I'm 'posed to do alls I did was say what I'm feeling when the vocal booth calls And had you on pins and needles when I spoke to you all You felt my pain, it's almost like I poked voodoo dolls And I hope my spirit haunts the studios when I'm gone My picture jumps off a poster and just floats through the halls And f---ing goes through the walls like the ghost of Lou Rawls The delivery is imo so much better than on MMLP2, Shady XV etc. Too bad the second part he talks about raping b------s and screams again. But I love the first part. That said, it doesn't fit the narrative of Compton and he should have kept it for a solo song.
May 18, 2016 He yells because the beat requires it. Easily top 10 verses post hiatus. Verses like this are why I want to see Trapinem, but only if its trap beats like this.
May 18, 2016 smh nothing to overreact about. Beginning is chill bumps. Yelling is fine, Flow is great, lyrics are amazing.
May 18, 2016 I love the new voices he's used on sway, kings never die and medicine man. I hope he keeps experimenting
May 18, 2016 I hate the post hiatus yelling as much as anyone, but it works on this song. Somehow it's different from the Recovery yelling. I think it's a great overall verse. Agree it doesn't fit on Comtpon at all, but I'm glad it's on there because we likely would have never heard it otherwise.
May 18, 2016 Well I love the raping b------s part lol It just feels right I say this is the nicest of ways
May 18, 2016 Verse absolutely owns. Raping b------s = his haters appreciating him. Just a metaphor. Very, very nostalgic verse in some lines. Sounded identical to the old em the way he pronounced some words/lines. If he had a full album with verses with this type of delivery it would own.. Hard. I almost thing this verse was recorded a long long time ago.
May 18, 2016 Easily, and I mean EASILY, the best verse on Compton. Easily Top 10 post-hiatus verse. Not sure why they edited out r--- though. He's said it before and actually said much worse things than that.
May 18, 2016 on the version i have the only thing edited out was the 'p' in the word r---, so it was pretty obvious what he meant. they either did that for some sort of ironic effect (censoring) or he did it to make it rhyme more with "aint none" (that elusive 'p')
May 18, 2016 Nah.. Dre has a few better ones and Snoop/Kendrick. But the first part (which I mentioned, for the ones who think I mean the whole verse) is indeed top 5 post hiatus for me
May 18, 2016 I'm not gonna say anything more. We all know how I feel about the disastrous Compton album.
May 18, 2016 yelling doesn't even bother me in this song. in fact I'd take it over him talking monotone the whole time. imagine him saying "karmas headed for Armageddon" and s--- with his "All I Think About" voice? no thanks.
