S.M.A.R.T Status Bad

    Anyone get this error? I came home tonight and my laptop (which i usually leave on when I leave the house for some reason) said S.M.A.R.T Status Bad, Backup, Replace

    wondering if anyone had this before and if it's something I can just ignore? I googled it but all i saw were a bunch of nerd forums that were like ":nerd:WELL UHM IF ITS TELLING YOU THE STATUS IS BAD, YOU NEED TO REPLACE YOUR HARD DRIVE"

    so i rebooted my computer which it told me to do, and backed up the few files on this laptop that are irreplaceable and I actually care about, but is this something I need to address? because i'm using it now and it's working just fine. i've had 0 issues since rebooting on the original S.M.A.R.T screen, is this something I can ignore and it'll just go away or do i need to buy a new hdd and transfer everything over?
