Jun 10, 2022 I mean, the list is complete horse s--- . And game isn’t wrong here. Like it or not the documentary was a staple for the return of the west coast . And who put on Kendrick, nipsey, jay rock….
Jun 10, 2022 I actually listened to it a couple days ago. Even if you're not a game-fan, you gotta admit that it atleast could've been number 200. This is a really odd list tbh. It seems like this s--- was auto generated or something. Da Drought 3 ain't even an album!
Jun 10, 2022 100% with both comments... agreed...documentary easily top 200...no argument don’t even know the criteria for Rolling Stones list but they must have forgotten...game with Dre, 50, Em etc...in their peak
Jun 10, 2022 1. "Intro" 2. "Westside Story" (featuring 50 Cent) 3. "Dreams 4. "Hate It or Love It" (featuring 50 Cent) 5. "Higher 6. "How We Do" (featuring 50 Cent) 7. "Don't Need Your Love" (featuring Faith Evans) 8. "Church for Thugs 9. "Put You on the Game" 10. "Start from Scratch" (featuring Marsha Ambrosius) 11. "The Documentary" 12. "Runnin'" (featuring Tony Yayo and Dion) 13. "No More Fun and Games 14. "We Ain't" (featuring Eminem) 15. "Where I'm From" (featuring Nate Dogg) 16. "Special" (featuring Nate Dogg) 17. "Don't Worry" (featuring Mary J. Blige 18. "Like Father, Like Son" (featuring Busta Rhymes) that’s a legit tracklist...haven’t heard recent game but no argument with this
Jun 10, 2022 looking at that list im p sure they probably just forgot i think one of the best things about rap music is how mixtapes are so good and sometimes even better than any album an artist puts out, not involving them in these conversations would be such a huge mistake
Jun 10, 2022 my biggest problem w that top 20 aside from invasion of privacy being there is def tpab being too high and ds2 being the highest future album smh
Jun 10, 2022 man I can't believe a bunch of white men couldn't handle "the documentary". yeah, it's all white men who wrote that list.
Jun 10, 2022 yea black people traditionally go to sleep and wake up thinking about the games documentary
Jun 10, 2022 that's not what I meant. the entire list is s---. they don't understand that hip-hop is more than pop music, it's about the culture and community. seriously, how can they put overrated cardi b over hip hop legends nas?
Jun 10, 2022 Game is off his rocker half the time, but don’t disagree with him here. Dreams and Start From Scratch alone puts the album in top 200
Jun 10, 2022 GRODT didnt make the top 60 and there’s a Nicki Minaj album in the top 40. Yeah I’d say this list has some major flaws.
Jun 11, 2022 TPAB definitely isn't too high imo, it's arguably top 5 my problem with the list in general is there are multiple mixtapes on this album list such as Acid Rap, and like the Little Simz album from last year or so made the f---ing top 200? Get Rich or Die Trying is extremely f---ing high, I don't think TES made it, and while women representation in hip hop is important it's clearly disingenuous to put so many women on this list. I actually really enjoy Invasion of Privacy, but over Straight Outta Compton? I love Fever by Megan, but over the SSLP, Death Certificate, and GRODT? The City Girls made the list? Bruh I listened to that album, it don't deserve to be here. The recency bias is insane, you'd think this is a brand new hip hop fan. Like I Said Little Simz is here, Savage Mode is here, Earl is here, Daytona is here, Tyler is here, Chance is here, Juice is here, Freddie is here, Pop Smoke is here, and while these are all good artists in their own right with their own individually good albums, all of the people I listed have albums from 2016+ here. Unless it's a TPAB level album, there's no way you can really put an album that's only 2 years old on an all time list. Also on the Nicki album, I mean it's pretty well known The Pinkprint is her best album. I guess you can say Pink Friday is more culturally impactful, but why would you rate some albums on impact and some on listenability?
Jun 11, 2022 "unless its a tpab level album", no you can't put a 2 year old album on a top 200 list unless it's top 200 level? obviously i think its better if you let an album breathe a bit and show its potential impact. tpab is probably like the 3rd or 4th best kendrick album and when tpab came out many were instantly hailing it as one of the best albums, some of whom argued that moved on after years and some still spout that same s---, its a good album for sure but most people who keep hailing it are pretentious MFers while i agree some of the albums are kinda silly to be included which are "recently" released but why are you picking savage mode as an example of recency bias when it came out only one year after tpab? how many years do you think is needed before the recency bias doesn't apply? did you pick 2015 only because tpab was released that year and would you be fine with savage mode if they redid the list in 2023 and still had it? savage mode and metro boomin in general has had an insane influence on the sound of rap music as the most popular genre. also the problem with freddie on this list isn't that its recency bias its that pinata isnt included. at least i didnt find it. also the problem with mixtapes on this list isn't the amount of mixtapes actually there could probably be even more, i think it's which mixtapes were chosen and which weren't i think both monster and we got it 4 cheap vol 2 deserve a spot somewhere in the top 50 at the very least, dedication 2 isn't there, back from the dead isn't there, no label 2 as a potential pick etc. having both acid rap and coloring book is kinda silly for sure and imo iyrtitl is kinda whatever as well as the tyler dj drama tape altho that's an album i guess, but other than that glancing quickly few of the mixtapes def deserve the spot such as chicken talk, tha tour and barter 6.
Jun 11, 2022 this list is just an awful mix of old white man opinions and attempts to satisfy 21st century media Game shouldn't even care about this dumb a--- list but it's the game n he got an album out soon so
Jun 11, 2022 Game's first two albums should have been there, so yeah, he's right. And where are Pac, Nas or even Kendrick's GKMC?
