Mar 4, 2018 Travis Scott calls it "scary" and like what he sounded like the first time, so new album 2018?
Mar 4, 2018 probably not, knowing how Abel moves. at the earliest we'll see a december release. im thinking 2019 though
Mar 4, 2018 December would still make it a 2018 release but what about Abel's movement makes you think it would be later than 2018? There were 2 years between his first and second album and about one year between his second and third
Mar 4, 2018 I have a strong feeling he's taking his time with this one. Travis's tweets only strengthens that feeling. He's been relatively quiet on all fronts since around October of last year, so its safe to assume he has just started the recording process in the last couple months and is around 40 to 50% deep. The only thing he's dropped musically this year was that Kendrick feature, which makes me think that he's not gonna be dropping in the summer. Usually when he gets ready to drop a new project, we see a couple songs drop prior to the album release. He usually drops these tracks off MONTHS before the release, like when he dropped Often and Earned It in 2014, and then released BBTM in August of 2015. So, if he was going to drop anytime in the late summer to mid fall, he would have at least dropped more than one feature like he did early in 2016 in preparation for Starboy, or dropped a few solo tracks already. Now he did drop quite a few guest features throughout 2017, that could help the argument that he is gonna drop something midway through the year. But looking at it from a larger perspective, it seems unrealistic marketing wise for him to drop earlier in the year. So this leads me to assume that he's yet to drop some new heat. It won't be an album most likely unless he pulls a Beyonce. I'm expecting a single or two in the coming 2 months. An album announcement around July or August, and a drop between December of this year and April of 2019. Of course this is all just speculation, he could do the exact opposite of what I think he's gonna do based on his past release tactics and just drop it whenever.
Mar 4, 2018 following the Beauty Madness trend this would make sense, but for Starboy, he did what musicians typically do; release a single a few weeks or month ahead of an album, and then release the album. He might just do the usual this year, personally I don't know or care if he comes out with new music early in the year (we're headed to the end of the first quarter anyway) or at the end, but I think there will be new music this year.
