Mar 15, 2016 a great review for its one year anniversary 1 Year Later: To p---- A Butterfly REVISITED review http://www.nappyafro.com/2016/03/15/1-year-later-p-----butterfly-revisited/ TLDR: "So the question is, after a year’s pass, “Is it still as good as it was when it first dropped?” No. It’s better."
Mar 15, 2016 Still don't like it as much as GKMC but it's still a great album. Equal with Section 80 for me..
Mar 15, 2016 Cant explain the goosebumps i got when i heard pac's voice. Was something spiritual almost. Whole album is incredible, even as a white male i completely understand the impact its had in the whole community. Whole album is a blessing, and kendrick really coulda won an oscar had they sold the videos as a cohesive movie
Mar 15, 2016 Like I said on ktt, I was in disbelief while listening. It was so different than what I expected, in a good way. I couldn't believe how he tied all of those doff sounds together in such a cohesive fashion. This piece of work deserves every bit of praise, it's a modern masterpiece.
Mar 15, 2016 Kamasi Washington. Terrace Martin. Robert Glasper. Thundercat. Ambrose Akinmusire. TPAB is oozing with BLACK musical excellence. I mean, it might've been a dope album if it was straight Hip-Hop but once they dipped into the ideas black musicians have helped to pioneer over the past 100 years...s--- was over. This album is a thing of beauty.
Mar 15, 2016 you could have worded this differently. You're acting like the album was a disappointment when its one of the best composed rap albums. I see you were quick to come itt with bias
Mar 15, 2016 Just got the vinyl for my birthday the other day. Haven't opened to listen to it yet but I plan on it and only wish it could be my first time playing it all over again.
