Aug 30, 2021 I can’t decide if it truly is a way to stir up controversy pre album or if Kanye thinks he’s being the best Christian he can possibly be by forgiving those who’ve been shunned by society (lepers) I will say the DaBaby situation is very unfortunate because I think he’s a great artist with a lot of potential which can be seen in his XXL freestyle and his Jail verse but also I don’t necessarily feel bad for him because of his doubling down on his ignorance. Sheek in a recent interview brought up a good point which was that labels used to have teams to help with this kind of stuff and teach artists what they can do and how to grow. I think the MM stuff is a bit more heinous and unforgivable than DaBabys simple ignorance. It’s also a weird choice to bring in to a Christian album listening party but I guess it aligns with the second idea of the perfect Christian thing. Any way, back on topic. How do you feel about the whole thing? Did you gain respect for him by sticking to his guns? Was it a bad idea? Thoughts below folks I got hit by a car on Saturday and I’m in bed ready to talk
Aug 30, 2021 i like the song, but its a typically shallow, misguided and tbh repugnant choice by our pal ye. like i ~get it but manson is washed, and seems like a creep. i do like the juxtaposition of golden child jay z on the first version..... then these two shitheads on 2.0...
Aug 30, 2021 Didn't think it was necessary, still an album dedicated to his mom and the gimmicks just kinda take away the focus and distract people. At least he didn't try to drop it on the same day as Drake to top it all off.
Aug 30, 2021 It’s also a bit odd if you subscribe to the theory of Roc Nations alleged smear campaign against Tory to prop up Meg, their golden child artist. Having Jay on one version and then the biggest instigator of the situation on the second just comes off as very tone deaf? I guess is the best way I can describe it
Aug 30, 2021 I agree and I kind of wish the dedication to his mother was more at the forefront of you know what I mean. Like an in your face “I miss you” song
Aug 30, 2021 To go a little further highly doubt Kanye would want Manson around if he knew about Mansons many racist rants in his earlier career/harassing black people who worked for him, mansons swastika inspired tattoo, Manson admitting to raping/sexually assaulting men and women since the early 90s, grooming making underage girls expose themselves to him and his band etc I personally feel as if the new wave of idolizing people like Manson is just an edgy cool thing as I've stated before here Manson is a very one of a kind artist who's far worse behind the scenes than in front of the camera dude lives and breathes his character because it's not an act very self destructive person all the stuff I stated at the beginning is common knowledge dude talks about all this in his book like he's talking about his favorite color
Aug 30, 2021 Manson 100% washed but complete out of nowhere album with his last one that was actually good and in a weird way a fitting end to his career unless he decides to comeback. I feel like he 100% doesn't care about what's going on but I don't think any label would touch him.
Aug 30, 2021 I agree, I don’t think he’s really that familiar with Mansons history and probably just saw people were mad at him at this moment and decided to intervene as he does love being the villain. as far as the modern hip hop obsession with the MMs and the GGs of the world it’s so purely aesthetic and I wish these people would realize how obvious it is and how it comes off as try hard
Aug 30, 2021 Typical Kanye bs, like when he tweeted BILL COSBY INNOCENT! on the eve of Pablo's release Never f----- with Manson or his music, dude sounds like he has a perpetual cold but instead of mucus it's cottage cheese
Aug 30, 2021 DaBaby has caught enough heat. Sounds like people want to cancel his whole career. I don't know much about MM but he sounds like a creep.
Aug 30, 2021 Imagine Kanye listening to mansons music after the fact and hearing him talk about burying god in his spit and all the crazy god bashing stuff lol
Aug 30, 2021 Mansons first 4 albums will always be legendary though and his run in general in rock is unmatched and his presence back then during interviews when people would challenge him >>>
Aug 31, 2021 if f---ing jack the ripper came back to life and started rappin Kanye would feature him. he always does this s---. YMW Melly, 6ix9ne, XXtentacion..
Aug 31, 2021 It sucks, no reason for a galaxy brain take here….just Kanye trying to be edgy and contrarian. Album would be better off without them
