Nov 30, 2014 I remember reading somewhere that Stat said a joke to Eminem that he took the wrong way and practically gave up on Stat from there on out. Stat Quo apologized and Em 'was cool' with it but not long after that Stat left Shady/Aftermath. What was said exactly? Don't think it's ever been mentioned. Also, what are your guys opinions of Dre wanting to make Get Low a single and promising to be in the video and never did? Then when Re-Up dropped Stat had to sit among the audience on BET That Dre beat was banging, though
Nov 30, 2014 Stat said when Em was sick, he almost die with Pneumonia. (i think) Next thing you know he got dropped from the label
Nov 30, 2014 He made a joke in a meeting that Statlanta wasn't being released because Eminem was essentially a lazy druggy
Nov 30, 2014 Ah, makes sense. Still a b---- move Eminem decided to wash his hands with him after Stat spoke the truth
Nov 30, 2014 Stat has put out some amazing stuff, but let's not pretend he would have been incredible.
Nov 30, 2014 I still remember first hearing stat freestyle for dre for like 7 min long and I was like "This that new ninja he gon blow" aaaaand statlanta never dropped, its a d--- shame tbh
Dec 1, 2014 For some reason I feel like I recall reading a different story somewhere.... that it had something to do with Stat & Eminem having a track for Stat's album with Em on the hook that they had originally agreed to use as a single. But then in a meeting for the album, they were discussing the single and Eminem said they were gonna use the track they did together as the lead single, but then Stat spoke up and said that he wanted to use a different track of his own instead (I'm not sure what his original first single that was released was, but it may have been the one he chose instead). And apparently that didn't sit well with Eminem for whatever reason and from what I recall reading, Stat said their relationship was never the same after that
Dec 1, 2014 Amazing? No. But a album filled with tracks like get low would have been nice. And Stat had some dope s--- on his mixtapes. Shelving him didn't benefit anyone, that's for sure..... Eminem's biggest career mistake was putting shady under interscope. If he would of done the indie rout an kept Paul out of his f---ing ear Shady would have been a great label.
Dec 1, 2014 Yup, that's what Stat said in an interview. Childish move by Eminem, but Stat was stupid for refusing an Eminem-supported single. This is the only thing that could have pushed Interscope to release the album
Dec 2, 2014 Stat had some great songs and with some production like cheers statlanta had promise . Its sad that it never came to fruition.
Dec 2, 2014 this tbh. and its also dres biggest mistake putting aftermath under interscope. they were big enough names to do it independent and they should have.
