So we're at the point where we have to take the best songs from 6 years worth of material to defend Eminem..

I don't think its defending him. Its more like seeing what could've been.

Exactly. If he released an album full of his greatest post hiatus songs in a world where we had never heard them, what would people think.

Dr. West skit but no My Darling? My Darling is probably the most eminem-sounding song we had since he came back.

Eminem will go down in history as a GOAT because of his early career and what he has accomplished dispite what many presume as a down fall of the end of his career

If the album was "full of the best songs from Relapse, Recovery, MMLP2, Shady XV and SouthPaw" it would horribly no-coherent though :emoji_neutral_face:

I'm not looking to get into a back and forth about this but i figured id elaborate. As you said he has more s--- albums than greats. There really is no evidence of this. Are his later albums up to par with his earlier albums? not even close. Are his later albums s---? its debatable.

We could look at sales but we know that doesnt prove the albums arent s---. Have you ever read the comments on facebook/youtube/etc when Em drops a song? The majority of the world still loves him.

Relapse is underrated although it has a few questionable songs. The accent works with it.
Recovery is good. Maybe it was where he went pop but that doesnt make it bad. It just makes it pop. If rap is strictly what you like then obviously its not for you although the majority of it is rap.
MMLP2 is decent. If it was named anything else and people werent expecting it to be more than it was it is actually good.
I guess i could throw BME in there too and say it is decent.

Not to mention some features that he has been on since coming back. Drop the World stands out.

Okay i see where you want to say he is s--- though. I could sit here and watch you pick apart a few songs on all of these projects. I mean how can the same person that had one of the best 3 album runs in all of hip-hop make songs like wont back down, numb, fack, etc. There is no denying that he has blemished his legacy but the worst he is at this point is average. His flow is off and hes making bad decisions with beats/mixing recently but he is still above average lyrically. Because we are in the moment and there are a lot of people criticizing him here we say he is a s--- rapper but when he is gone from rap or dead he will be widely considered as a top 5 without question. at least that is my disagreement to his legacy being tarnished
