Mar 5, 2018 Snoop and Common are 2 of the the most well known rappers in pop culture and they both have certified but I rarely hear anyone consider them as a got, Common more so than Snoop. Why yall think
Mar 5, 2018 On the contrary I think they are widely considered goats, Snoop had a genre-defining debut and for a long time Common was the poster child for critical acclaim "purists". Plus of course they had movie/tv roles that only help build their legendary status in hip hop. They did have some inconsistent careers tbh I guess people don't rate their highs as equal to the Kasts, Pacs, Jays and all that. Which is a shame since their catalogs certainly match up to their peers, Be & Doggystyle are as good as it gets.
Mar 5, 2018 Snoop has only one Classic album and Common has two that's not good enough to be called a "GOAT"
Mar 5, 2018 Depends on what circle I guess, irl I've known people that were huge proponents of them and in many publications they have been hailed...but I feel what you're saying, they are respected but not often put on that bigger pedestal with other greats.
Mar 5, 2018 they are more than you think, I would call them legends not GOATS but that personal opinion.
Mar 5, 2018 Okay why don't you think Snoop or Common could be considered a GOAT, having a 25 year career with multiple classic songs and albums and being one of the most prominent figures in hip hop culture should at least give snoop the nomination
Mar 5, 2018 Snoop has 2 at least, Common has 2 at least not to mention both of them have both dropped amazing albums that last few years
Mar 6, 2018 I think they definitely can be considered GOATS, just not to me. I wouldn't cry if anyone claimed they were.
Mar 6, 2018 Cuz common made universal mind control And snoop is more known fir his personality now than his music
Mar 6, 2018 Yeah I guess thats kinda the point of this thread but its still so weird because as underrated as they are they're so popular outside of music
Mar 6, 2018 Snoop hasn’t really been popular as an actual rapper since the blue carpet treatment. But he’s definitely put out some great music since then. Bush was a lowkey classic. Coolaid & the doggumentary were both solid. Haven’t gave a proper listen to anything he dropped the last 1-2 years but I need to.
