Mar 17, 2018 I've been a fan of Eminem since 2000, when MMLP released. I was 15 at this time, and having always been a pretty quiet kid that was kinda introverted, the rebellious nature of him at this time really appealed to me. He was somebody that didn't give a f---, wouldn't allow himself to be censored, and I found listening to his music to be a real outlet for me. Fast forward to today, and I'm a very different person. I'm 33 years old, and my views on people, the world and life in general have changed DRAMATICALLY (as you'd hope they would have over 18 years). I still listen to MMLP regularly, and love every bit of it, but I don't RELATE as much now. What I mean by that is that I have HUGE nostalgia for how it used to make me feel, and that's a large part of why I love it, I still appreciate the beats, the rhyming, the talent of Eminem on that album, but I no longer feel the rebelliousness when I listen to it as I used to. Today, when 2018 Eminem is speaking on politics, gun control, Trump, and the state of the world, I can relate to that. It's a big part of my life as a grown man now. Whether or not he's better or worse as a RAPPER is debatable, I love his technical ability, I think he's a genius with flows and rhyme schemes, and yes he still acts immature as f--- on a lot of songs, but the 2018 Eminem is once again speaking about things that relate to ME, that's when I FEEL something, more of a connection, when listening to his music today. Anybody calling Eminem a hypocrite for speaking on gun control after being so pro-gun in the past really doesn't understand growth as a person, or maybe isn't old enough yet to understand it. Allowing your views and opinions to be changed is a big sign of intelligence, and believe it or not, integrity. If he, or anybody for that matter, had the same views now as they did nearly 20 years ago, that's when you should worry. Rant over.
Mar 17, 2018 Wasnt he rapping just 3 years ago on medicine man about words not just being words, 9's and spraying people with a sniper? And making b------s he rapes c-m? Yea hes really geniune about his gun views and matured... he is so fukking fake its pathetic
Mar 17, 2018 If his music was literal, and he's a criminal how the f--- could he raise a little girl?!
Mar 17, 2018 Eminem pissing fans off because of gun control is hilarious. Really weeds out idiots who don't understand messed up jokes in his songs are still jokes. And even if he does contradict himself, who cares? He's a guy who rhymes for a living, don't look at him for any advice or opinion.
Mar 17, 2018 congratulations for sticking with him this entire time, especially when he voices his opinions and views on todays society.
Mar 17, 2018 As a european, gun control is such an abstract term to me. We don't have kids shooting their classmates here.
Mar 17, 2018 I like America but f--- the system that allows guns.Kids getting shot for nothing but still they think it's good to have guns.
Mar 17, 2018 I feel like he needs to be more passionate in his music kinda like that BET awards freestyle. I respect the message but mixing political raps with pop music doesn't mix well. Revival still sucks btw.
Mar 17, 2018 Ya but you guys have messed up teeth, can't go buy a gun and Walmart and go to the shooting range, and can't get a 128oz soda pop.
Mar 17, 2018 But on topic, thank you. This is the best Eminem has ever been in his career. Revival is an instant classic to my ears. Very thoughtful music with some humor thrown in just at the right parts.
Mar 17, 2018 I don't like Eminem in 2018 cause he's a hypocrite(which he isn't opinions change) I don't like him cause he makes trash music. The thing what pisses me off the most he's still able to make good songs(Believe and Chloraseptic) he knows he makes garbage songs(admits it on WOW) but he still makes absolute trash. The sooner his yes man squad f---s off the better his music will get
Mar 17, 2018 It's okay not to be a huge Eminem fan anymore but ppl literally getting upset about his opinion are stupid af.
