Dec 30, 2015 I honestly don't think he will or has even come close since he dropped TC. NWTS was a decent album but didn't age well along with IYRTITL. The intro to this album was amazing. This is where I wish Drake would take his music more rather than what we have heard lately. That's just me though. Guess you lose some you win some, as long as the outcome is income The second half of this song is beautiful. Wish you would come and find me, just to tell me that I haven't changed girl I needed that from you One of Drake's best flows he's ever used These two are arguable top 10-15 Drake tracks imo You won't feel me till everybody say they love you and it's not love f--- man, revisiting this is nostalgic. Bringing back some middle school memories In my eyes, this album could be considered a classic and I also don't think he'll ever top it, not even with Views.
Dec 30, 2015 See I ask myself a consider question, but instead of Take Care I think of So Far Gone. I just liked the way SFG transitioned into TML, which dominated the summer of 2010. That hype period was something special. Take Care dropped, was equal to SFG IMO...and then NWTS, which is great, but not at the level of SFG/Take Care. I'd rank his projects SFG > TC > IYRTITL > TML = NWTS I'm thinking Views From The 6 will be something special. It's now or never, I'll be disappointed if he didn't step it up.
Dec 30, 2015 I don't see any signs that he will. There are a lot of songs I love after Take Care but a full album of that quality, we can only hope.
Dec 30, 2015 Disagree that NWTS hasn't aged well, I think it's actually aged best out of all of his projects. If TC is 1a, NWTS is 1b, then SFG, IYRTITL, TML. 2014-15 has been an experimental period for him. I've said it before but I expect VF6 to be a much more advanced version of SFG. See below for a visual. So Far Gone Views From the 6
Dec 30, 2015 Nothing Was The Same is def the better album. Take Care is just the one I'd rather listen to for nostalgia reasons. Lately I find myself throwing on NWTS though, over Take Care. It aged really, really well.
Dec 30, 2015 NWTS was pretty boring other than a couple tracks imo. OT, not yet. Hopefully on Views he will.
Dec 30, 2015 It wasn't that great when it dropped. Many of us (myself included) were hoping for an extension of Take Care, because that album was in constant rotation all the way up until NWTS dropped - it was just that good. NWTS was met with lukewarm reception, but it aged great. Listening to the two back to back now, you can hear that Drake just got better over that time span, the ambience he was going for on TC is cleaned up on NWTS. It's not as indulged, it's more concise and it makes for a better listen. NWTS is also less one tone, you get a welcomed switch up every few tracks. Still, no matter what track you're on, they're central to the identity of the album. I've wrote in detail why NWTS is the better album before, I'll try to dig a post up for you. They're both like a 8.5/10 for me though. But for different reasons.
