Eminem is a commercial giant. He is an industry icon. Eminem has been a multi-millionaire for the last 15 years.
How in the f--- is any of his music relatable? This is the fallacy of eminem's music. Any person with any ounce of critical thinking can see the error in his music. Eminem is a motherfucking manufactured product. As is Drake and all the other culture industry icons. That's why you never hear them talking about or discussing any convention threatening topics. They simply ride the industry trends, recycling their content year after year, satisfying their role in the overall entertainment market. If you look at Eminem's discography, generally speaking, he has been rapping about the same exact s--- for his entire career. His branding has remained consistent, leading him to artistic stagnancy coupled with poor execution.

His singles, if you put them into context (a reclusive 40+ year old multi-millionaire with three kids), are f---ing terrible. Its like he writes these songs with the intended audience being children under the age of 15. They are so simple and lack any depth. They lack the sort of complexity you'd expect from a 43 year old man. What the f--- was 'The Monster'? 'Rap God'? Kings Never Die? Etc. etc. These are tired and contrived, aimless, borderline meaningless and redundant topics with almost zero appeal to an adult audience. His peers probably don't f--- with his music because he writes his songs for their middle school aged children. What the f---

This n----- has yet to release a real a---, grown n----- album. He, often times, simply portrays a weak caricature of himself, a f---ing shell of his artistic peaks. He wants go down as a "syllable genius"..like wtf? This is really his aspiration? When will Eminem discuss some actual relevant, real s---? When will hip-hop become a platform of counter-cultural dialogue again? Eminem, and many others, are simply pimping this dying consumerist culture while they can.

    I am not impressed.

Also lol @ the fact somebody compared him releasing a grown man album to Kanye West. Shows how much they actually listen to rap outside of eminem.

Well he does talk about his life now. Listen to So Far... from MMLP2. It's a fun song, I like it a lot, but some people don't. It's not heavy, or has a strong message - do you want a whole album full of songs like that?

I concede that he could afford to be more political, but he has a wide fan base and making them satisfied is perfectly understandable. He's been experimenting a lot with the craft of rap the last year, sometimes to huge backlash. His solo albums are going to be more mainstream, so they sell a lot.

By "They" I meant eminem fans in general. And a lot of rappers talk about a variety of subjects in their albums.

You should be drunk as f--- to write useless s-----y thread.

First, Eminem's music was relatable in every album in different ways. and Every album Eminem rapped about different stuff completely, SSLP is different from MMLP, TES, and Encore, Relapse is a whole different style, Recovery is the opposite of Relapse, MMLP2 had different topics.

The 3 songs you mentioned are great, although not relatable, but you can't deny the awesome style Eminem had on 'em.

and I'm not sure, are you talking about Eminem or Justin briber ? cause Eminem has fans from all races, ages and countries.

my problem is that you compared him making a grown album to Kanye when literally majority of rappers do it all the time.

you... really have problem with that...? Kanye talks about difficult subjects and try to make a music with message so I thought about him first cause I listen to him a lot. you said that it shows that people like me don't listen to rap outside of Eminem, soo... let's just leave it there

It's not about relevancy though. He's saying eminem didn't have much artistic integrity to begin with and did nothing to expand it, which is true.
