Jul 12, 2021 I'm not a big Travis fan, but I did like some songs from Rodeo and Astro. I feel like it's still a bit soon to be sure. This would have been interesting after his album drops.
Jul 12, 2021 He always sounds uninspired, has nothing to say, and i just hate his hype all around the world.
Jul 12, 2021 btw, i love to have a space to be able to s--- on overrated rappers @Donkey Kong Country keep these threads coming
Jul 12, 2021 I'm having fun with them too lol. If you have any suggestions please let me know, I've been trying to think up rappers who have a very vocal fanbase but also get s--- on by the general populace lol
Jul 12, 2021 I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy some of Travis's music and I think as far as his albums go, Astroworld is a pretty good album—but when his albums are good, they're rarely good because of his direct contributions. On other people's songs he often slows them down to a screeching halt his uninspired karoake of future/thug/migos/kanye/cudi. Where he shines is as a curator with a DJ Khaled type role where he can fit a bunch pieces together...kinda like modern Kanye tbh where when he manages to throw something good together, he's often the most inessential piece when it comes to the actual rapping.
Jul 12, 2021 Yeah besides rare examples like 90210 or SKELETONS (which he didn't even write lol) his albums are mostly about seeing who he collaborates with in order to make it sound good.
Jul 12, 2021 its just enfuriating to see how some average artists are percieved abroad. In my country, so many rap fans completely overrate rappers like drake and travis, like they are gods or smthn. Truly eye rolling.
Jul 12, 2021 Haven't listened to enough to comment fully. Listened to that album with the space theme on the cover and didn't really feel it.
Jul 12, 2021 well skeletons also has vocals from pharrell, kevin parker from tame impala, and the weeknd so that one doesn't even really apply lmao. And the main credited producer is Tame Impala lol
