May 30, 2017 October 2016: Eminem announces he is officially working on his 9th studio album alongside the release of 'Campaign Speech' Much like his work in the past years, Campaign Speech came and went, and was forgotten about for its own good...it was awful February 2017: After months of no word, it is announced that Eminem will feature on Big Sean's 'No Favors' What seemed like a 'Campaign Speech cut' the feature was again a big let down to those thinking it could be his comeback moment Now it's June, and we have the same amount of news as we had 7 months ago, in my opinion the public reaction to the 'freestyle' and feature made Marshall scrap the project and take a new direction. New album early 2018?
May 30, 2017 Campaign Speech was good for what it was I honestly don't think any album was scrapped, he's just perfecting it. I'm happy to wait as long as we hear something this year
May 30, 2017 If he had an album like Campaign Speech thank the f---ing lord he scrapped it. I doubt he had an album like that freestyle though.
May 30, 2017 I think he scrapped recovery 2. The songs on shady xv seemed like a shittier version of recovery. That's when I think he decided to start over on the album. It's the only explanation for the long wait.
May 30, 2017 I just think he doesn't have any material anymore, since he won't talk about anything current
May 30, 2017 I agree to a degree, but his references in No favors were fairly current. I'm not sure what he will rap about but i think he may dive a little into politics. Hopefully some decent social commentry. What do rappers who were popping in the 90's/ early 2000s really have to say now days? Yet we will still flock to them. Such an odd era with the longevity of some rappers.
May 30, 2017 i didn't mean it like that, i meant the album he announced w campaign speech fixed title
May 30, 2017 Yes, @JMG confirmed this, said he scrapped the old album and is 80% done with the new one.
May 30, 2017 Either way, no, I don't believe he scrapped it. He may have gone back to alter lyrics, but not scrap it completely.
May 30, 2017 yes but im guessing he only scrapped the theme and started a new project probably kept a few song ideas and just added some new ones id say there probably jsut working out the single
May 30, 2017 At least come up with a more believable fake name than the one that's been used like 1,000 times on fake tracklists over the past decade.
May 30, 2017 super keen to see the fake corny tracklists as album gets nearer. MMLP2 looked like a fake track list.
