This is a hard one for me. They collaborated on this track:

Who do you think is the superior rapper?

idk, Black Thought at his peak was disgustingly skilled... Doom is unique though. Hard to compare.

I forgot DOOM changed his name from "MF DOOM" to "DOOM". He dropped the MF because of everything with MF Grimm. Lemme change the title real quick

    doom easy

bt has no personality for me , he is a very very good rapper but he is not interesting enough to get in my top 5 like doom is
his flow is nothing impressive at all , easy to reproduce

doom's flow is one of the most abstract things in rap , he took the offtime rapping with polyrhytms to a new level

I just saw the Roots perform live and Black Thought is easily the best live rapper I've ever seen

THANK YOU FOR ACKNOWLEDGING DOOM'S FLOW. A lot of people think he just can't rap on beat, when in reality, he's mastered flow to such an amount that he can make it sound like he's going offbeat when he's really not. That's one of the things that's so genius about him.

Personally, I would have to choose DOOM. These are my top 2 rappers, but DOOM is just the GOAT by far IMO

Black Thought has mastered circular breathing, so I would imagine he would be incredible to witness live

I have no idea what circular breathing is but yeah he was great, they played lots of classics and did covers of Jungle Boogie and the Immigrant Song and some other s--- as well. It was super refreshing to hear him do it 100% live and 100% accurately after hearing so many rappers say half the words over their vocals.

It keeps the listeners engaged, adds to his personality and his charm, and most importantly, it allows him to make clever lines even more clever. Some examples of these lines are:

"I wish I had two more wishes, and I wish they fixed the door to the matrix, there's mad glitches, spit so many verses sometimes my jaw twitches, one thing this party could use is more...booze"

"I wrote this rhyme in bed with a chick, she had the tightest grip around the head of my...bic, now can I get my pen back?"

He makes it seem like he's going to say something and then humorously says something else. This is accomplished through timing of his "offbeat" flow

Circular breathing allows a rapper to breath less or make their breathing less obvious. Black Thought is probably the only rapper to have mastered this. That's why you don't see him stopping to breathe in his live shows. Some other rappers sound really out of breath and constantly take pauses in their verses which really takes away from the show. Black Thought on the other hand is able to keep going without ruining the show

Seriously though. @VR46 is literally a legend in my eyes. I used to analyze RG posts to gain knowledge on rap. I literally joined SectionEighty because a bunch of RG users were moving here
