Feb 16, 2018 Depends on what you guys define as sold out Personally, if a guy helps their family and makes as much money as possible (which is the concept of rap) then they're not a sell out. How can you call Jay a sell out when he's created jobs in his community, given to charity, made as much money as possible and helped a lot of people? I think there's snakes and takers but I disagree with there being a sell out at all, the term just doesn't make sense because rap is a concept for young people struggling to "make money". I hope this made sense.
