Apr 3, 2016 it's all preference i suppose but in my opinion they take away from the experience because the songs don't even sound the same. the best rap shows i've seen have all been with a dj. Kendrick has also been one of my least favorite concerts ever. when i saw him open on the yeezus tour he performed f---ing problems 3 times in a row and it was lame. saw him last may after TPAB came out and he performed maad city 5 times, two of which were when he called a girl and a guy on stage to perform it. and on top of that the only TPAB song he performed was Alright. everyone left that show disappointed. I also saw chance the rapper with a live band and that was the worst show i've ever seen, but it was equally as bad because of the venue. live bands make it very difficult to hear the artist edit: rappers with live bands are also pandering to a certain crowd who don't even like hip hop. why would you want to listen to a song that barely resembles the way it actually sounds
