Feb 3, 2018 Here's the trailer first: Looks dope as f---, I haven't watched it yet but here's the link to the full performance if you're interested, this premiered on PBS just yesterday(Friday). https://www.pbs.org/video/nas-live-from-the-kennedy-center-classical-hip-hop-ia4ugt/
Feb 3, 2018 Dope performance, I saw it and DVRed it. Huge moment for the culture to get that kind of respect, hopefully it continues with other classic albums. I've seen other artists like Mos Def and Deltron 3030 employ orchestras live. In Mos' case, it didn't work out so well and in Deltron's case it worked flawlessly. This Nas performance is the best one yet and I wasn't even there. Also, major props to the drummer, Daru Jones. I've seen him go from being a relatively unknown drummer to working with Jack White and now Nas. He used to work a lot with Black Milk and I've seen him live a few times with Black. He's gone from free gigs to touring the world with acclaimed artists. Well deserved success.
Feb 3, 2018 Lol but why? We don't need anymore renditions of the most overrated album of all time. Christ.
Feb 3, 2018 Jesus man... You might be a millionaire and all and I respect your money making decisions but d--- your opinion of music sucks .
Feb 3, 2018 Watched this on PBS last night and loved it. It was like listening to the album for the first time all over again.
Feb 4, 2018 n-----, go listen to Blank Face and still claim (In public, too. You're really brave for that because That's Ultra-Basura, right there.) It's fire. s--- garbage as f---. And Eminem been trash since Devil's Night. Go live in the past and stay praising mediocre a--- albums like they ever had a chance of being perceived as even "solid" or "slightly above average". Might as well congregate with self over your exclusively excrement-equivalent musical palate.
Feb 4, 2018 If they are going to push illmatic NAS needs to re record the vocals and get a couple dope producers to make all new beats. That would be way cooler than this s---.
