Nov 20, 2020 f---. probably GKMC because the other 3 helped shape my music taste early on. on the flip side, I’d probably rather listen to GKMC, GRODT, and 2001 today over MMLP if I had to pick. If we’re going here on out, I’ll pick MMLP
Nov 20, 2020 Jesus Christ. I knew someone would pick that, but not this soon. Lordt. I mean, he still practically hadn't even made it to his prime until Devil's Night, but that's only 8 verses of Prime Eminem being compared to around 50 Verses total on the whole of MMLP.
Nov 20, 2020 Get Rich or Die Trying, MMLP edges it out because it has Drug Ballad. None of these albums are really in my rotation anymore though, but out of the four I'd never consider ousting 2001 or GKMC.
Nov 20, 2020 Imma need everyone to stop pretending 2001 has more than a handful of 10/10 songs. Don't get me wrong, those few hits are f---ing BANGERS but all around the other 3 are better albums.
Nov 21, 2020 It just hasn't aged very well. Stan is with no doubt still an amazing song but that's about it. I can live without it. GRODT has amazing hit singles that I rather listen to than The Real Slim Shady, GKMC has Money Trees and that's the only argument I need and 2001 still sounds crisp as h--- in 2020. A true milestone and blueprint of a polished high quality production mixed with great choices of featured artists (for the time atleast).
Nov 21, 2020 I don’t know if it’s because I’ve overplayed it so much or what (used to listen daily from like 2012-2015) but GKMC hasn’t really aged well imo so that’s my choice
Nov 21, 2020 Hm. If we really think about it, maybe it's not that the demographical metric of Hip-Hop aficionados turned their back on Eminem. Maybe it's that it just simply hasn't aged well. And you know what.....I might objectively agree. I personally still prefer MMLP over the other three, but I understand why it would be the first ideal choice to come to mind, if we wanted to axe anything from this list. This is probably why people don't rank/rate Eminem's legacy as being that d--- ascensive as we previously and initially once thought. I fell out of love with Em and the mere concept of "Stan"-dom when "The Eminem Show" dropped because I already seen a decline, even if it hadn't fully materialized yet, up to that point. He was a lot of people's G.O.A.T. when we were just pre-teens.
Nov 21, 2020 Not fair, next time put all 4 albums that are in the same category to make it hard for us, no need to add GKMC in there.
Nov 21, 2020 Well said, that's pretty much the point I was trying to make. I'm not the teenager I once was and even though Eminem was a big part of my introduction to Hip Hop (after all his international success mobilized stans all over europe and I was one of them), I can't resonate with alot of his earlier content anymore (and current one for matter of fact). I can still see why many people would say MMLP is the best out of the 4 mentioned but it comes down to personal preference at the end.
