Sep 17, 2017 On This Day In Hip-Hop History, September 17th, 2010, Kendrick Lamar dropped his critically acclaimed fifth mixtape, Overly Dedicated, which featured guest appearances from Jhené Aiko, ScHoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, BJ The Chicago Kid, Ash Riser, and Alori Joh. It was the last mixtape Kendrick released before his debut album, Section.80, was released the following year and is seen by many as his best mixtape and an underrated cult classic. What are your favorite tracks, beats, rhymes, and moments from this tape? Discuss. @KendrickSXN
Sep 17, 2017 This and C4 are the only ones you should listen to, the others are bad quality and old af.
Sep 17, 2017 I think i've listened to O.D. More than i've listened to TPAB over the years, Ignorance is Bliss, Heaven and h---, Average Joe, p---- and Patron all GOAT
Sep 17, 2017 Yeah, it was when Tha Carter IV was being delayed, so Kendrick freestyled over a bunch of C3 beats. Do you know how Weezy has that "Fear God" tattoo on his eyelids? Well, this was when he was K-Dot, so he had a fake "Fear Dot" tat on his eyelids. That s--- was cool. I'm a huge Wayne fan, so I liked it a lot. I listened to a few tracks from his Training Day mixtape and they were alright. There's also two unofficial mixtapes on YouTube I really like- Compton State of Mind(2013) and The Unreleased(2014)
Sep 17, 2017 You guys just made me appreciate C4 and his old mixtapes a lot more. I think his old s--- was still pretty good. I guess that makes me a Stan or whatever, but it seems like he was pretty skilled even back then. I guess he had that GOAT potential in him from Day one.
Sep 17, 2017 My favorite songs on there are The Heart Part 2, Growing Apart(To Get Closer), P&P 1.5, Alien Girl, Michael Jordan, and Ignorance Is Bliss
Sep 17, 2017 liking his old s--- doesn't make you a stan if you don't know his height, place of birth, and ssn by heart you good
Sep 17, 2017 Comptown, although it's impossible to listen to Kendrick Lamar and not know he's from Compton. That's a huge part of his story.
Sep 17, 2017 2 of his best song off this tape. Both are extremely underrated in terms of his catalog. Classic tape. Classic cover art. Classic Kendrick
