Aug 25, 2016 Simply, we need more definitive sub genres. Now I'm the first guy to express my distain for genres generally I think they're a really primative way of categorising music but honestly they're the best thing we have and try work - to an extent. In rock music for example you have classic rock, math rock, punk, post punk, post rock, emo, pop punk etc all which are drastically different from one another and all bands more or less can be categorised in one of these neat sub genres not only that but the fans and community can have a general understanding on what they are and it's easier to just stick to your tastes and be segrated and happy. Think about it like this no one really identifies as a "rock" fan you like hardcore, blues, glam rock, grindcore When it comes to hip hop you can only really call yourself a fan of hip hop, trap, "90s hip hop" but these are too vague I think a problem like old heads being embarrassed or offended and upset at these new dudes should be able to just have their own sub genre try operate in and someone like yachty should have their own sub genre they can operate in noone would compare korn to the Rolling Stones it wouldn't make sense you don't need to. The reason people even have room to hate on the futures, uzis, tuggers etc is because they compare them to like a really old outdated criteria which is okay that's what try expect from new hip hop artists but that's the problem the only reason to hate on them is because there's nothing else for them to call themselves but hip hop so yea idk this probably won't happen or definitely will and will just take time like with rock and other genres but ya just wondering what your guys' thoughts are on this could be kinda controversial but iono just a rant grab Jeffrey in stores so soooo soon!
Aug 25, 2016 Uhm derailing my well thought out thread isn't gonna bring her you broke a--- mouth breather
Aug 25, 2016 I'm not derailing, i'm giving commentary. And your s--- is too long to read....is my comment.
Aug 25, 2016 What? f--- whatever you meant with that post. I've bailed on a few p--- vids b4 cuz the warning and disclaimer at the start was too d--- long and i felt not reading it was irresponsible
Aug 25, 2016 In my experience, it's usually the "real hip hop" heads who are the most ignorant, unwilling to listen to the new music. While trap heads acknowledge the greatness of the Nas', BIGs, Pacs, etc., but it's just not their cup of tea
Aug 25, 2016 I really don't get why so many people get butthurt when you want to put subgenres of rap in different boxes. Even gucci mane has said that trap should be considered its own genre.
Aug 25, 2016 I think it would be great if we could classify all the subgenres. Cuz people would have less arguments and you can explain your taste in hip hop easier. I mean some rappers are just incomparable, so how can they be apart of the same genre when you have different criteria for each of them.
Aug 25, 2016 lmao bro n----s gone like what they like, their isn't a way to fix it. Thats how its gonna be forever.
Aug 25, 2016 most my bros are the "real hip hop heads". Other day on a road trip I had to put up with 3 hours straight of g--- starr, yet I can't play 10 seconds of Future, with out them going what the f--- is this rubbish. It's like they decide in their mind before they even hear the songs that it's trash just because it's hip to hate on on new rap. How can i fix them?
Aug 25, 2016 That's literally my experience with trap fans, it's liek they don't even know what good music is they're like "ohhh it's dust", "ohhh it doesn't b---"," ooooooh it's 0/10"
Aug 25, 2016 Kek @ reel hip hop fa----s who jack off to their daddy's vinyls telling ppl who actively listen to new music to be mature how bout expanding your taste past 2002 you snapback wearing timb-with-no-lace rockin MFers.
