Sep 2, 2018 Both seriously lack replay value. The sampled chorus of Stepping Stone is just musically unpleasant. Not a fan of the way he mixes his singing vocals these days either. It’s like he just chucks it into melodyne and drags it a step or two up then layers it all. Honestly couldn’t care less about “the story of d12” either. Should have talked about something more interesting. I like the beat tho. Got those old skool em drums

Sep 2, 2018 Brah, I get you’re kinda emotionally attached to the story and s---. But i haven’t cared about D12 since 2006. I don’t wanna hear that s---. I feel like after I’ve heard the song once, I’m not really inclined to go listen again. People say it sounds like 05 em, but is that really a good thing. We’ve constantly criticised that era over the years. It’s like “finally he’s not the 2018 Eminem!!!” “He’s the slightly less s-----y 05 Eminem”
Sep 2, 2018 lol you're absolutely right, but I believe 05-08 Em was leagues and leagues and leagues ahead of Revival Eminem. If you think he's just slightly less s-----y, SS and Good Guy obviously won't hit you like they hit some others (me included)

Sep 2, 2018 The original question was "which song belongs on TES". Stepping Stone can't possibly belong on TES because D12 want over at that point. I'm just being stupidly logical. Ultimately Stepping Stone hits me in the heart so I prefer that song at the moment. Time will tell though, who knows how this will imbed in a few months time.
Sep 2, 2018 Castle/Arose is way better. But I really believe that Stepping Stone is a old vault record that he felt was fitting for this album - it has a totally different vibe, voice and production compared to the rest of the album.
