listening now and no idea what i was supposed to expect lol

first track sounded like storytelling then started devolving into weird not horrorcore but odd s---. and the nuances in the delivery etc arent that appealing to me, seems lazy more than anything

"moonwalking on the moon uuhhhh" <<<<<

next instrumental is great...MC is alright but dont get the gimmick lol

"kid is unpredictable came form the jungle where there's animals and miracles" sure

dude sounds too much like a 16 year old who just realized just he has a pretty good delivery/presence.

theres nothing really there aside from that..to the point where i cant tell if its a parody or something im not picking up: "illuminati thats the real enemy" :dwight:

Just finished listening to this! I really liked it. His storytelling was great throughout and IMO it's clearly his best feature. The EP almost put me to sleep tho. (makes sense, I'm super tired)

I will definitely post more about this tomorrow because I really enjoyed the first listen. I'm gonna get some sleep now tho.

Loveleen - Money b------s Ho's Greed p---- Lord Knows, his voice is soft and his delivery almost effortless, probably to his detriment as I had a hard time getting what he was saying possibly due to the lack of energy in his deliverance. The beat was mellow which I liked.

Snow (My Rap Song) - Has a grimy (for a lack of a better word) feel to it thanks to the beat (which I got use to after initially feeling annoyed with it) and the lyrics which vividly portray his exploits. Really like this track more so that the first.

USSR - Love the beat (I'm a sucker for piano-laced beats). His voice fits the beat nicely in this track.

1992 - Chill beat and just relaxing in general. Not sure what the meaning behind his penchant for the year 1992 but it's neither here nor there.

Olga (1984) - Noir-like beat. Best song on the tape.

Overall it was a very chill tape. He has some nice wordplay moments (like in Olga "Sippin' Guinnesses, chillin' on the moon/Her name is f---ing Luna, I'm Looney to the Tune"). If I'm being honest he's not my type of rapper as he's too lackadaisical to keep me intrigued. The style is there though and he does well with it. Would I revisit? Possibly when I'm in a mood that would better appreciate this project. Overall it was an average-to-good experience. 6 or 7/10.

I thought Narsh was being a bit harsh before listening, but I find myself feeling the same way.

The production value is nice but at best he sounds like another Odd Future member and at worst he sounds like a random Soundcloud rapper with a clumsy political agenda. The Snow instrumental sounds exactly like something Tyler the Creator would be on, which isn't necessarily a bad thing just a bit unoriginal. The opening chorus on Loveleen is such a blunt and pretentious parody. His preachy and amateurish delivery on that track is insufferable. Ussr is another overtly militant song plagued by an amateurish flow. He actually reminds me of Narsh, but I'd rather listen to Narsh because he doesn't spit about such polarizing and pseudo-intelligent topics. The flow on 1992 is incredibly lazy. Sounds like he wrote it without the instrumental in mind. His feature actually does something interesting with it. Olga is another Tyler/Earl impression but at least he's just spitting stream of conscious type stuff. Actually not that bad outside of the intimate conversational intro.

I like the beats on this tape a lot more than the rapper. He approaches serious issues in an immature and heavy-handed manner. Then again, he was fresh out of college when he made this so let's hope he's grown up a bit since then.

He went to college in the US before returning to Dublin to focus on his music.
Kind of explains the way his accent shifts back and forth.

I finally got a chance to check this out right before I dive into Rocky's leaked album. So here are some initial thoughts:
    • The production stood out the most to me. Very mellow/smooth on most of the EP besides the 2nd track, it made it bearable for the most part which brings me to...
    • I wasn't a big fan of the dude behind the mic. He seemed to be lost throughout this project as far as the writing goes where he was often conflicted with his own thoughts. His delivery & flow could definitely use some improvement.
    • As a whole it was like listening to a timid Odd Future tape without the shock factor and abrasiveness. There is some potential however since he was unafraid to really explore what was on his mind and with some work I can see him being a respectable story-teller.

Reminder to try to give this a spin and post some thoughts on it before Sunday.
It's only ~15 minutes long so it's not too taxing.
