Both of these albums are meant to be played forward and backward with narratives laced within both listening experiences.

Tetsuo and Youth played forward is a display of changing seasons, artful stories, and dense raps. T&Y played backward however reveals a narrative of Lupe Fiascos life from his birth to his growing up in the south side of Chicago to his rise to fame to his dispute with Atlantic. The song Mural serves as the "final boss", emcompassing everything Lupe has done in his career and displaying his lyrical dexterity like never before while also serving as the ending of the narrative as he is at peace with leaving Atlantic. It is thought to be a spiritual succesor to The Cool but leave that to the stans who've wrote articles picking this album apart even more

d--- played forward is the death of Kendrick as his life flashes before his eyes. The songs after BLOOD serve as flashbacks and memories. d--- played backward, like T&Y, reveals a loose coming of age narrative of Kendrick. The story ends with his death. Both listening experiences involve Kendrick battling back and forth with his wicked nature and his wholesome nature. Both experiences also end in eventual death. If Kendrick helps an old lady, he dies. If Kendrick grows up without a father, he gets deep into gangs, engaging in that wicked lifestyle until he dies. d---ed if he does, d---ed if he doesn't.

T&Y was Lupe’s last great album, top 3 for me. He had potential to be one of the GOATS if not THE. I don’t think that theirs a more intelligent skillful rapper alive who had the type of appeal he was gaining with The Cool. d--- is fine, don’t care for some of the tracks but it ain’t bad.
