May 26, 2018 I was browsing through my iTunes collection (currently a modest 11 terabytes and growing) and it hit me '43 was really an essential year for the decade (1947 still my favorite personally) but '43 had very important work regardless I'm curious what stood out to y'all Here's my top 3 1. Charlie Parker - Birth of The Bebop Some very great moody early skeletal jazz and rhythms on this record the trumpet playing from frequent collaborator Dizzie Gil was a enough to cement this as my favorite of '43 hands down tbh. 2. Paul Robeson - Songs of Free Men At the age he was he still had a great voice some would argue this was actually his peak. Idk if id agree but fantastic regardless a man of true versatility man sung some of the best folk to date and could recite songs in a multitude of languages artistry at its best a$ap rocky WISHES he could make this. 3. Leopold Stokowski - Fantasia Now this was a soundtrack for the Disney film by the same name originally released in 1942 with a rerelease the following year orchestrated by Leopold with help from the Philadelphia Orchestra, still sounds fresh today Let me know what stood out to y'all @ThuggerSXN I'm not sure who to really tag lol
