In a little over two weeks Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP will turn 20! Discuss this classic album. It is Eminem’s best album and the best hiphop album of all time and one of the best all categories. What’s your prediction about a new special edition release? Any unreleased tracks from this era? Any demo versions from the album in the likes of the Lose Yourself demo?
Last year we got the expanded edition of SSLP and even if we didnt get anything special from that, this album was huge, so much more popular with enormous impact on the industry and the world. Chances are, we might be getting something this time. discuss

This album does feel 20 years old. I remember my friend having the CD the weekend before its release and everybody being jealous over that fact. I remember the lo-fi version of Kim hitting Napster months in advance of the album release. I remember buying the CD at The Wiz and getting home to play it on my PC. I remember hearing “Stan” for the first time, before the name Stan became it’s own term in Hip Hop lexicon. MMLP was an album that was a big moment in Hip Hop as well as Pop music. MTV was obsessed with anything to do with Em. They promoted the h--- out of the album, EmTV, The Kurt Loder interview, etc. Great album, probably the closest Em has gotten to a classic.

I think i have mentioned it before but a short documentary or maybe even a long one will come with or some sort of thing like that. When Em promoted the 2001 album anniversary last year it was with a clip when Jimmy and dre talked about mmlp and that clip wasnt showed in the 2001 video so it was probably for its own anniversary. Its his magnum opus considered by most of his fans and himself so i think he is up with smt for it. Looking forward!

Eminem's best album for sure. Not exactly a timeless classic but it has a lot of nostalgic value. It would be great if there is unreleased material from that time.

It's aged fairly badly tbh. I always ranked it #1 but TES has aged better because of the more mature content.

It’s aged terribly imo. Hoping for a cassette tape though. Maybe even a MMLP themed fidget to capture the nostalgia from that time period.
