Aug 10, 2020 Thought it might be cool if we all discussed what DAW we use, any analogue gear, interfaces, mics etc and Plug Ins. I'm on Pro Tools, I do the subscription version so i always have the new updates. audio interface is this old a--- Mbox 3 (about to upgrade to the SSL 2+ though ) I record on Slate Digitals ML-1 mic for the VMR plug ins. I use the emulation of the Sony 800g. I use a mix of slate digital plug ins and a few waves plugs. I don't think slate is rivaled at all with their analogue modeled plug ins (though i know UAD is supposed to be great, I've never used them) and as of Friday I'm now mastering with Ozone for the most part for the low end focus, imager and the master rebalance, I prefer to make my own EQ moves in mastering though. TF YALL WORKING WITH OVER THERE THO
Aug 10, 2020 I use a snowball mic at the moment. I want to upgrade to a yeti. I also want to invest in soemthing like the Roland Aira VT3 to play around with voice effects.
Aug 10, 2020 I record in a studio lol Need to get my home setup running again. my old setup was Adobe audition 1.5 A Groove Tubes mic (can’t remember the exact model but it was my absolute favorite and it’s out of circulation now ) M Audio Fast Track Ultra 13r (felt like the preamps in this were superior to the fast track pro) KRK 6 Monitors Outdated waves diamond plug ins and auto tune lol
Aug 10, 2020 i second your comment on the pre amps being superior. Im Just leaning towards that SSL 2, everyones on the UAD apollo's but ima sucker for SSL stuff lol
Aug 10, 2020 Does yeti have a XLR model? or are they all usb? one of my friends who has a game channel uses a snowball mic. and Those aira are dope for sure, but i could prolly get you alot of those effects with my mixing *cough cough* lol.
Aug 10, 2020 oh also.....all My wavs, and slate plug ins, baby audio, and sound toys are purchased.....BUT, i do have a hook up on a f--- ton of vst2,3,and AAX plug ins from a certain site thats my little secret ive been holding onto. if you guys want the info i can PM it to yall. 95 percent of it works great. a few of the links are old and dont work anymore (fab filter, valhalaa reverbs) but theres DAW links (studio one, abelton, logic x, cubebase) production plug ins etc. lemme know and ill send it to yall
Aug 10, 2020 Tomorrow I swear. I have been super busy and haven't even recorded anything this month yet
Aug 10, 2020 Hahaha im just f---ing with ya bro, like i said i aint going anywhere so whenever you get time is cool
Aug 11, 2020 I love that SSL saturation. im also big into tape saturation. ive been cranking the f--- out of the tape machine i have from slate digital on my vocals lately lol
Aug 26, 2020 I`m working with Ableton 10 Standard at the moment. Still looking for good plug ins. @MichaelsMad @Rick James is there a good and free Synthesizer plug in? Problem is, that i need more and better sounds.
Nov 12, 2020 i dont know any free ones but fl studio is what ive been using since 2008 very easy to use over ableton and logic
Nov 12, 2020 Pro tools has a free version now called pro tools first. You can get it from the avid website(sessions are limited to 16 tracks tho). Ableton also has a free version now called ableton lite. If you're on Mac they still offer garage band for free.
Nov 12, 2020 I make my beats on my Maschine MK3. Most of the sounds I pull are either from Omnisphere, Serum, or just various one shots. I bounce all the stems and do the mixing in logic. Then the mic I record Logan on is some random a--- beginners mic we bought in 2013 at a local music shop. We have a Scarlett interface, just like one of those beginner ones. I mix my beats in Logic just because I’ve been mixing vocals in there for for long that I’m just comfortable with it, so it was just easier to mix the music in there as well. I used to have a mastering chain I made myself, but have also just transitioned to Ozone.
Nov 16, 2020 I need one of them too. But i dont want to pay around 300 € now. Isnt there a cheaper or a good free synthesizer?
Nov 16, 2020 Yeah, I’m sure there’s so good free ones somewhere if you do enough research. Getting one shot kits for $20 is also a cheap alternative. Luckily, I used my stimulus check money we got in the US to buy Omni. Splice has a rent to own option for Serum as well that costs like $10 a month until you pay it off, so that’s why I did for that. I had a cracked version, but I had to put in a serial number each time I closed it so it just grew to become an annoyance so I caved and bought it
