believe it or not, CARS is hugely successful - 2-3 sequels, two spinoffs, tv shows, etc. its a whole f----- up empire. the coastal elites/media dont respect it, but its like pixars bread and butter for heartland audiences. they love the s---, larry the cable guy and all,,,,, despiete the fact the universe is so bizarre and corny.

its like they make cars so they can justify the art s--- they try later

pixar is in a weird place to me... seems that their tentpole features are geared more toward people who grew up with pixar (and critics) than toward children

not a fan of movies like inside out that just explicate the ideas that should be a movie’s subtext. it’s lazy! give me ratatouille

yeah im with you. feels like after wall-e, inside out, toy story 3 they hit a severe creativity wall.
hence the multiple sequels to pay the bills, as u said their brand became 'heady but cutesy concepts that mainly appeal to adults'
