Shoutout to @WPG for the amazing write up as usual.

I did the Chester Watson write up. Such an honor to do this! Great list too, check it out and introduce yourself to new music.

I've found so much new music from POW when I remember to check it. No surprise Drakeo would be the number pick. I see they just posted their top 100 songs too, bound to be some good s--- in there. Congrats on the write-up @Antman your writing has improved by leaps and bounds, keep doing what you're doing. definitely convinced me to check out the Chester Watson album.

    Much love.

I had the album spinning so many times before the write up that I got sick of hearing it. It’s a great listen though. It’s a mood

Call Rolling Stone lists trash as much as you want, but at least they properly rank projects that actual real-life people listen to

I'm sure the write ups are great but just throw the whole site away

The disrespect in this thread is disgusting. Y’all n----s getting a chance to check out music that may not have mainstream access, but offers quality for the soul. I’m appalled.

I dont think they were going for 'lets rank all the well known albums' but more like lets give the more unknown albums some shine and exposure

Don't get me wrong, I love being introduced to new music and enjoying it...but market that introduction as such (we have a couple great threads on this site for things like that).

Don't frame it as a "BEST ALBUMS of 2020" list and blatantly lie to readers by excluding people like Dua Lipa and The Weeknd.
Then title it as Most Underrated Albums of 2020 or something. I HAVE HAD ENOUGH.

It's not even specifically this site (POW) at all either, Fantano did the the same s--- with his Top Albums list this year.

I understand what you're saying, but different sites have different visions. Jeff has no interest in regurgitating the same list you've already seen on every other site. There's value in highlighting little-noticed artists who released great music but got overlooked

Yea yea, one person's "best" is different than another's. Nothing wrong with spreading the shine, either.

I'll take back my roasting of the site. I'm just tired of the Dua Lipa snubs :emoji_sob:

Edit: I'm sticking to my opinion that the Popcaan album shouldn't be near these lists, though. I thought it was pretty mid. Swap it out with Dua Lipa and we're all good.

Every site has a different niche/angle they go for with lists like this, and I think it's something to be celebrated rather than decried in a world of algorithms and Rap Caviar. Like, it's obvious that the list is trying to highlight more obscure and lesser-known artists...that's kinda the point of the entire website.

I'm sure most people who wrote those blurbs love Fetch the Bolt Cutters but it's not like the internet needs another writer up of an album that's P4K's album of the year and received a coveted 10/10 at that.

For example @Lil Squeed would have RMR on his yearly list and I’d rather pull a Van Gogh than hear a song from that dude ever again
