Apr 4, 2015 My introduction to hip-hop was when I was eight years old. My bro was setting up his computer and he put in a CD to listen to that he got from a friend (he was in high school at this stage). First song that came on was: I remember getting hyped by the beat and was just blown away. So tell me SXN80, what was your first encounter with hip-hop?
Apr 4, 2015 My dad had this CD with a bunch of classic stuff that he would play on the way to school and long drives. De La Soul, Big Daddy Kane, etc.
Apr 4, 2015 G-unit's cd Beg for Mercy and 50's Get Rich cd sitting in my basement thanks to my older brother back in 04 when i was in 4th grade
Apr 4, 2015 Heard various rap songs on the radio as a kid and always liked it. Linkin Park is psuedo-rap and they were the first group I ever got into. Started f---ing with cats like Lupe and Mos Def in Freshman year, and then sophomore year a buddy of mine put me on Kanye, and ever since I've been discovering new artists every week and expanding my musical pallete
Apr 4, 2015 I actually didn't get into music until I was like 13. My first encounter with hip-hop was Outkast, I think
Apr 4, 2015 My sister would always listen to Eminem. He was the first rapper I listened to and could identify.
Apr 4, 2015 My dad playing "Rapper's Delight" and "Planet Rock" in the whip when I was a kid. He and my uncle grew up in the Bronx when Hip Hop was forming. My uncle was more into Hip Hop though. He would school me on Pete Rock & CL Smooth, g--- Starr, A Tribe Called Quest, Fugees, etc.

Apr 5, 2015 Man... my first time driving I thought I'd be a speed demon. Went to a parking lot to practice... lmao it was terrible hahaha.
Apr 5, 2015 Used to hate music as a kid for some reason. Only song I liked was Lil flip I shoulda listened. Then I heard lupe kick push and instantly knew there was good music out there and began the journey (get rich or die trying was my first cd though I was very young )
Apr 5, 2015 I grew up with Beastie boys, Eminem, Game, 50, Wu members, Fab, Jay, a bit of Nas, Kanye, g-unit, Outkast (and few others i can't think of off the top of my head) all of them would frequent top 40 charts and s--- like that. i used to watch a lot of those "top 20 countdown" show things as a kid. I think after that, I probably started paying more attention to the radio until I decided I wanted the Eminem Show album. I got that and then after hearing that, I stole 50's GRODT off a ginger from school, i was probably like grade 3 or 4 maybe. Moral of the story is don't let your kids listen to rap/hip-hop or they'll start stealing s--- off gingers.
Apr 5, 2015 I guess the first time was hearing a biggie song when i was bout 8-9 that my cousin used to listen to he was about 13-14 thn. I didnt really get it at that age but he walways seemed to play rap. I remember hearing ATCQ and really liked it so he got me there CD might of been a ripped copy. After that it was Nas Em, Big L/# First big L song i heard (i think) was crazy to me
